Uhh, what are you asking. Like playing games online without internet? OOr using lan lines to play games? Be more specific, or maybe you are and I dont know what your talking about.

 

well if you knew anything about networking you would know what i am talking about, a data netowrk i guess the notes that i put about ITS BEING NON INTERNET did get through to you

 

not very sure bout what you mean but i know microsoft has a wizard in control panel that allows you to make a home network connecting other pcs/printers nearby...

 

I do im studying network+ now learning all this stuff.

The protocal you should probable use is TCP/IP its the one used for the intenet but should suite your non-internet network as well. The things that you proble want share are folders/printers. A peer to peer network should be good assuming the network is not that big.

To share a folder right click, properties, sharing. click share this folder and give the group "Everyone" the full control permission. Or instead of sharing folder you can just share your hard drive from my computer.


To share a printer first go to the computer that has the printer connected to it. Go to start printers and faxes. right click on the printer you want to share and click sharing. and click share this printer and give it a name. now go to the command prompt and type ipconfig and write down your ip address.

Now go to the computer you want to be able to use the printer from. start, printers and faxes, add a printer. Next, a network printer, connect to this printer. Now type your ip address and your printer name in this format
"\\192.168.x.x\printername" now finish.

If you want it wireless you'll need a high end router.

As for wired it's just Ethernet cables and the Network setup wizard.

 

He dosent need a high end router he dosent even need to route.

all he needs is a hub. connecting computers from ethernet cable to ethernet cable would be very expensive.

 

I like to use FTP protocol its much easier just make one computer an FTP server and install FTP software on other computers... Everyone can just access files easily that way

Im sure you would have to buy some ftp software if you want to do that. TCP/IP should have the same feel as FTP though.

You're writing doesn't seem to make too much sence. So don't go getting all angry. I assume you want to connect 2 ore more computers to a single storage unit?
