Ok, I am very unexperienced at GFX. I dont have photoshop and currently I use GIMP and paint.NET. But what I am trying to do is crop a person out of a picture. Ok, what I am doing is I have a picture of a knight that is standing alone in a picture with a forest background. I want to just get the guy without the background and then paste it onto something else. If their is anyone out their that this made any sence to please help me out here. Thanks

Well the "Magical Eraser tool" is probably what I am looking for. Yet I dont want to pay $400+ for something I could almost get for free. But if I do get into GFX I might have to go that way

GIMP does suck, but you're going to have to zoom in and cut the fucker out with the lasso. A steady hand and patience is essential. If you can't be bothered, then you aren't going to be any good at GFX.

Well if thier is "another way" I might have to try it out. But for now I really dont want to buy Photoshop. Any other programs you guys know that could crop something out a little easier?

Yea I agree with everyone else. Gimp is bad unless your really good with it. I haven't used Gimp but I believe there is a pen tool in there. Zoom in on the knight and go around the knight and then you can turn the pen trail into marching ants. After that you can just simply cut it out. If that doesn't work you could always download Photoshop which is much better.

Isn't there a tool to cut the knight out of the picture so you could place it on your other backround?

Yah their is a lasso tool in paint.NET that works fairly well. I think I would be better off with photoshop though. Well I better start saving.....lol
