I suggest running in safe mode with networking to stop this while you do the scan. AVG free is the best free virus scan, so get that. I don't think you can get 2 virus scanners at the same time couse they can interfere with each other. You get to safe mode by restarting and pressing F8 until something happens. then click safe mode with networking (if you need internet).

You can have two anti-virus installed at once (I wouldn't really recommend running them at the same time). And remember to exclude the other anti-virus's virus vault from searching. You can't have two firewalls installed at once because the conflict.

System restore? Simple, first click start then go to all programs. Click on Accessories. Then down to sytem tools, then system restore. Your computer makes automatic save points on randomly throughout the month, usually about once a day. Just click the day before or a few days before you started having problems. I am sure you could handle it from their. Might take a while to do because you have to restart I believe. Well if that doesnt work then anti-virus (free or pay-for) would have to be the way to go. Do a full system scan not a smart or quick scan. Well hope this helps. Good luck

And when you do get rid of all of this I would suggest getting firefox (cant help you much right now though)

Cool327 I hope you were not refering to me when you said that. I never said that downloading Firefox would fix his problem. I simply said when he does get rid of the virus that he should download Firefox. I have been working with computers all my life, I know that this is not a matter of choosing a browser.

I had a similar problem when I had firefox. I got rid of it and my computer speed went back to normal.
