Yea you need a an elite #1 center and either team has one

 

how come yall gave up on Sergachev and got a winger to play center? lol

 

We could argue that we put our defense's future at risk, but all around it was the decision to make at the end of the day. Drouin's born a winger but he is also very comfortable in being a center. With Radulov leaving, we had to get our hands on an elite player who knows how to pass the puck and knows how to score goals. We needed "that guy from the town" because Montreal is a really tough market. Over the years we kept arguing that we didn't have an elite quebecer who can shine on the ice but also off-ice in the community and we can openly say that Bergevin fixed that problem.

 

My Leaf's are looking so far so good this year Let's hope for big things.

 

Gotta say, good drafting and development on their young talent. Should be a powerhouse offense until they require new contracts

Lol it was going so well too. Bish had the shut-out, then Kari Leht-em-in comes in after Bish takes a puck right to the face and gives up 2 goals on like 8 shots.

I know it's just one game but it's so emblematic of their problem for the last like ~5 seasons. And now they've got to go to St Louis immediately after this. Just not a good way to start the season.

 

I love Jagr so much. Just the consummate professional. I really enjoyed his brief stint with Dallas. He's a great leader and he was even our leading scorer while he was there.

While he and Michael Ryder didn't stay in Dallas long, they really helped a lot of their youth players self-belief and growth.

 

Leht-em-in in goal tonight, gonna save myself the fury and rage and not watch.

I'll call this a win. Toews finally has an effective line-mate. Kane carrying the second line. Third line spearheaded by Anisimov. Young players stepping up, kudos to the scouting department.
