    C++ or Java???

    I honestly say that you shouldn't be making any games if this is your first programming language. Also, if your creating your own engine, this is another problem. C++ has many game engines but I don't really know about Java.

    C++ or Java???

    Even though I said c++ earlier, if you wanted a game to run through a webbrowser, it'd have to be Java.

    C++ or Java???

    As Speljohan said, Java is good cause its easy and a applet an can be browsed as a webclient. But in the same time slow and drains a greater deal CPU etc.

    C++ is faster but also as Johan said its harder aswell...

    But i'd go for delphi its a variant of Pascal thats a bit modified so that in meen time you'il recognize much from the Java, c++, c# languages, This language is sort of advanced but prity easy to learn if you get into it... I'd go with this because its fast aswell as C++ and its the one im most comfortable with. If you decide to go for Delphi i'd be glad to give you some e-books and mayby some help im a very busy man.

    C++ or Java???

    Why would you bash Java for draining CPU, and then recommend Delphi, another high-level language?

    SIR, MIGHT I SUGGEST THAT YOU ARE A TROLL

    C++ or Java???

    Hmmph..

    C# is OK for games I guess. I went to this mashup for robotics and was talking with some of the guys who make serious ones.. Like the old men with no lives. Hehe.

    And so I was talking, he had the robot done in C#, and he had made a GPS for it, to navigate in Java. The setup was AMAZING...

    I gotz his numba :D

    C++ or Java???

    C++ code can be cross-platform if you are careful.C++'s idea of cross-platform programming is that you code once and compile the source in the target operating systems.most games you play on windoze are actually developed on linux with C++ and then ported to windoze, Micro$oft then pays the games companies so that they wont release the linux versions.I' d rather code may be two or three times more code in C++ to deliver efficient, high performance systems than to hustle the end user with JRE and its luck-laster performance.So let no one convince you that you can't do RAD cross-platform programming in C++ cause they don't know what they are talking about.

    if you want to easily make games in C++ check this out, its a friendly video game engine.

    http://gdk.thegamecreators.com/

    also using C# and XNA is even simpler.

    C++ or Java???

    Java is the most basic to use. But for advanced games with better graphics, C++ is your best bet... For a game like Runescape.. Java for sure...
