She would have bin better than than the current government. Al Qaida didnt do this, this was the work of Musharraf. The security that she got was very poor, and that is also why some people were hitting the police and military vehicles in the clips taped shortly after the assasination.

Even though she suported Bush, she was much better than Musharraf. Musharraf takes care of himself and his governmental position, he never takes care of the people, Bhutto was going to take care of the people as much as she would take care of herself.

Its sad that she had to die, and even sadder that 20 civilians had to die with her. Therefor I do not believe that Al Qaida stood behind the assasination.
Al Qaida would not remove someone that would help america less than Musharraf.

I don't know what Bush is speculating, but chances are it's something to do with Al Qaeda.

I don't think that it would have been Musharraf, he gains nothing from this. He only further destabilizes an already politically shaky nation.

Al Qaida has nothing to gain either! I really doubt that Al Qaida thought of her as a big threat. Musharraf on the other hand, has bin attacked by her in many occasions. She is against Musharraf and the way he rules the country, it also explains why the government poorely guarded her.

Last time she was attacked she blamed the government for the poor secuirity.
Even the pakis that suported her are shure that it was Musharraf that stood behind it. Several police stations were attacked today, and many belongings of the government were burned down by the people.

Musharraf himself though blames Al Qaida.

Forget Al Qaida. Like someone said, Al Qaida has nothing to gain from it rather than assassinating the current president.

The current president himself said that he evaluated choices and then chose to fight the so called war on terror on behalf of USA on his own book. So he is not necessarily anti - Al Qaida due to the fact that he "chose" after US gave him choices (either get attacked or help us eliminate Al Qaida)

Secondly, Pakistan is lawless country as of now. Its not just Al Qaida that is recruiting there but also Taliban, anti-indian terriorists (sponsered by government), and many other branches of Al Qaida are operating. Not just that but as a usual thing in lawless country, current ministers might just have their own gangs too.

It could be any of those gangs' works since those ministers might've been promised of presidency when Muharoof steps down/was planning to run for it but now, Bhutto comes out of nowhere and gets to be big.

Regardless its a shame that whoever did this, cannot deal with the fact of a women in a position of power and the fact that she has the audacity to oppose them. And as much as people bash the US, (I even do it) it shows how much we take for granted.

Maybe it's america's next step in world domination, stur up as much shit over the world so they get to play with guns some more?

I doubt al quida would do this because they gain absolutely nothing as mentioned 2 times above. There are other terrorist organisations in the world except al quida for god sake think outside the box -.-

Gen. Pervez Musharraf didnt do it. He wont gain anything from this.

Al-Qaeda threatened Bhutto that they would attack her before her speech but she didnt care. Today Al-Qeada accepted that they had their hands behind this.

    Assassination of Bhutto

He did have much to gain from this! Bhutto was purely after helping the paki people, Musharraf was and is not! He took care of himself and his governmental possition before taking care of the people. He made the country unstable, he is a dictator! Explain to me why it is that Bhutto herself blamed the assasination attempt back in october on the government?
Bhutto was against Musharraf, therfor Musharraf had alot to gain if killing her.
She was his nr.1 concern, problem and threat!

Even the pakis as I have mentioned before, blaim the government for the assasination! The government never gave her the security that she needed!

Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, the man who is said to be a Al-Qaida spokesmen claimed that Al Qaida stood behind the assasination. Yet that same man is also a member of the taliban, and he has never previously bin know to have represented Al Qaida.

Why would Al Qaida use a unkown spokesmen to spread out the message?
Why would they not use their official spokesmens?

I still doubt that it is Al Qaida.

I also believe that Bhutto, was to good and kind for pakistan. Her goal was to change the entire culture, she took alot of unnessecary risks, and she was to kind for pakistan. In these kind of countries you need a man to rule, a woman just cant handle it.

Our relations with Pakistan has really been fuckin up lately. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) she was startin to kind of push us off of the oil pipe line. Maybe the US arranged it? It'll be interesting to see who we arrange for the next one to be..

True! Musharraf thinks of himself and his position as I have said many times by now, and having a good connection with america can only be to his advantage. America gains from this close connection with Musharraf and Musharraf himself does to. Bhutto was against Musharraf and she would think of the people before thinking of herself, she was after Musharraf, she wanted him out. And if Musharraf was replaces with her, that would suddenly change the connection and relationship between america and pakistan.

Regarding the Al Qaida thing. What I stated has in no way bin confirmed yet, it is only Musharraf that claims such ting. Taliban and Al Qaida early this morning made clear that they were not the ones to be blamed for the assasination.

To maintain his 15 post per day average.

I'm going to have to agree with Krypton here (to my own shock and amazement), I doubt Al-Qaida or the Taliban would gain anything from her death. She should have kept herself better protected considering the tensions, and to be honest it may be for the best. Musharraf controlled the military, and if Bhutto did win I doubt he'd just release his control without a fight. She was way overhyped, but the fact that people even listened to her is a good sign.
