Do you HONESTLY believe in God?

I used to when I was little, but I haven't believed in any God in over 10+ years.

Since this forum is meant for "intelligent debate", why?

I have always felt that somebody is there. Looking over me. In times of need I have prayed and those prayers have been answered. It's better to believe, than not believe and be wrong at the end? Having a little faith in life.

I hope you don't mind if I break down your post a little bit.

Do you normally believe your feelings?

If I might ask, what prayers have been answered? Anything concrete that couldn't be explained any other way?

Maybe, but you can't choose to believe something. You either do or you don't.

I believe with meditation I can go within and realize who I truly am, I do not believe in some imaginary "God" who is always looking after me.

Do you not believe that you can find God the same way?

No one really knows if God exists in the way that many religions portray "God" to be. Religion is just a means to divide people, i'm sure each religion has a few truths to the afterlife but some is just filled with brainwashing information, not trying to offend just my two cents. I'm agnostic, leaning more towards spirituality.

My grandpa was my spiritual teacher and told me to worry about finding myself not finding God. I don't know what I'll find but I know I'll find something I've already found a couple things and then I've even seen those things written about in different scriptures of different religions as well, the scriptures have deep knowledge in them that a person who is not spiritual cannot properly understand. Now lots of people either blindly believe in some god or some are atheist because there are very few real religious spiritual teachers in todays' world. Generally the people out there that are preaching are the ones that know nothing of "God".

Religion has gotten a bad wrap it is just a way of life and was created to unite not to divide but has become diluted with spiritual ignorance over time, the creators of religions have shared true spiritual knowledge in the texts. Over time due to spiritually ignorant teachers in each and every religion and the lack of true spiritual teachers in the religion they've became a cause of division. Todays' world is devoid of spirituality that's why so many people are unhappy, with enlightenment and spiritual bliss the people would be happy and content this world would be a heaven. Many people go and look for a but do not find it's sad to see hopefully this can change and a true spiritual master can come to save the people and show the path in the coming years. One candle can light another and so on that's what the world needs one candle.

That's good to hear, most people are out of touch with themselves and consequently out of touch with God, as well. But what I think your grandpa was trying to tell you was the same thing I was getting at in my first post -- that finding "yourself" is the same thing as finding "God." There is no difference.

Yes, but not as we often hear God portrayed as some old man sitting up in heaven dressed in all white with long white hair and beard lol.

I believe God to be the supreme energy emanates throughout the universe. The energy from which we and everyelse comes from.

I believe that there is something supernatural like god but not like its depicted in religions. I don't think there is heaven and such but something where this all was created from.

Its all just energy that circulates and creates life, I don't think there is any deeper meaning. Also considering the fact we are living right now against all odds there may be life after death and we may have lived before. This is just my opinion.

Well either way you slice it, there's still one thing that doesn't add up. As far as we know absolutely everything must have an origin. Nothing can come from nothing. Either the universe has always been, and there was no origin, or god has always been and had no origin. Obviously this is outside the realm of our understanding. I'm more/less of the belief that nothing really matters. We're here now, we wont be later. Why does it need to matter?

Please forgive me if I'm mistaken, but hasn't Islam only existed for ~1400 years?

Interesting. Which previously undiscovered discoveries has the Koran unveiled?

I don't mean to be rude, but all documented evidence points to islam being one of the youngest religions that is currently popular. There's nothing to peg it at older than 610 AD.
