Sand crabs with brine sabre is good

 

I am training up a mauler right now, it's 41 atk, 90 strength, 1 def. I have been using the brine sabre the whole time, it's a little slower compared to a Sara Sword but it gets the job done at-least.

I do not have a halo, and I train mine at NMZ.

 

If you've done DT an ancient staff and a Zamorak Book, or a Brine Sabre and Zamaroak book. If you have 55 Slayer, use a lead-bladed sword and Zamorak Book. On all of my 50 attack pures, I'll stick to San Crabs until 80 strength and go NMZ. If you're 1-42 prayer w/o over head just use the absorption method and rock cake down your Hp, if you have 43+ prayer just bring Prayer boosting gear and prayer pots.

 

Also Halo is best in slot for Prayer/Defense XP. It has no attack benefits

 

If you get 55 slayer, you can also use the leaf bladed sword. If I remember correctly, it has better bonuses than the brine sabre.

 

Yeah, leaf-bladed sword will save you a couple hours on leveling strength to 99.

 

Leaf-bladed sword. With a cannon and blowpipe you can get 1-55 slayer within 5 hours.
