Fingerprint protection is not the best method for authentication; it's relatively easy to duplicate, other factors such as age and vulnerability of the scanner are a risk. It's also the reason why the NCC (National Cybersecurity Center) advised against using only fingerprint sensors for authentication (which you can see in Apple or Android products: a passcode has to be set, always).

I don't see fingerprints as advantageous over two-factor authentication as they can still be gotten around using molds, scan manipulation, etc.

I'm sure there are security features that are more secure than two-factor authentication but I don't believe there's currently any need to use something else.

Lmao.... Having a fingerprint makes it 3 Factor authentication - The most secure. A general rule "per factor" is, something you know (password); something you own (Auth key on mobile) ;and something you are (Biometric).... @R

I work in biometrics for my job

It doesn't really make it 3 factor when you talk about phones and the likes because if your fingerprint doesn't work you just use a code. It's really just for ease of use rather than security.

That's still 2FA then - When you need all three then it's 3FA.
