Is the U.S. Truely free anymore?

The U.S. is not what it seems like to foreigners in my eyes, its not really free anymore. I went to the local gas station and was kicked out for a stupid reason, and I called a lady a bitch, and I got a ticket for it, what happened to the freedom of speech? What about releasing government plans or such to the press, the press gets in trouble, freedom of press? Hell, I can't even hang out at the local general store (I have nothing better to do.) anymore because I get ran off for skating or talking in the parking lot?

    What do you think?

    1. Gas stations are private property.
    2. Freedom of speech does not extend to slander.
    3. The press gets in trouble for illegally obtained information.
    4. The local general store is private property.

Private property: Can you kick people off your doorstep? Yes, so can buisnesses.

Of course it's still free, you just have to use your brains to do the right thing in order to enjoy the freedom. Only problem is, some people are incapable of doing so which causes them to start illogical rantings.

Was it the cop who gave you the ticket you called a bitch? If thats the case you're lucky more didn't happen. If a business thinks that having some kids leaving scuffs all over their rails, walkways, or parking area (and doesn't want to get sued if you fall), then as Shawn_ said its their property, they can throw you out. If a gas station attendant has a feeling that after 20 minutes of browsing with your hands in your pockets that you aren't going to buy anything, then the same thing applies.

Skateboard in your own driveway. There are ramps everywhere you can buy.

How about you read the first post before you submit something that is both not what the concept of the thread is about, let alone the specific first post details?

How is America not a democracy? Do we not still hold elections?

Your right, it's a federal constitution republic, with an election based on the electoral college.

we're not leaving scuffs, theres no rails, its closed when we're up there. I live in a mighty small town and we do nothing wrong.

    to bad my driveways gravel.

it was a worker who kicked me out because theres only 1 student allowed in at a time and there was already 3, she dont like me and just today after school I went through the drive through to get a soda and pay for gas and she told me to fuck off, I informed the police and they said I was probably lying and she has the higher authority because shes older.

Its the freedom of speech, we should be able to know whats going on in our country.

If freedom means loosing a job to an illigal immigrant that sneaked over the border than we are definately free.

If you lose your job to somebody who's willing to work harder for less money, then that's just too bad. Besides, the types of jobs lost are generally menial ones. Unless you're a farm hand in the South, you don't have much to fear.

Is the U.S. Truely free anymore?

Even though i'm in an entirely different country, I think I can argue. :]

The U.S. is free .. That does not mean that the U.S. is not unjust. The U.S. still has it's amendments .. It's just that people don't know how to use them. Freedom of Speech, for example, does not give ANY person the right to walk up to someone and insult them with profanity.

It's the way you use your freedom and rights in the U.S. which makes and shapes your opinion of being free. Misusing them and being punished for it is a sad way to bias your opinion on freedom.

The U.S. is free .. but only to those who know how to use their freedom. :]

It makes no sense to be mad about a job being stolen by an illegal immigrant.
Why is it illegal? Isn't it helping the U.S.??
Doesn't the U.S. need more people who will work for cheaper than the average self-centered, money hungry people who whines because his salary is low?
Think about it .. Are you working for a dollar an hour on a job that most would have a fit for if they were being paid anything less than 20 dollars an hour?
That is no argument topic .. Only because if you EVER put it in the perspective of a fair, sensible person .. they'll win.

Immigrants aren't "imported". Not only would that be repetitive, but also inaccurate. The word "imported" usually relates to an inanimate object of such, not human beings.

This all depends on how you define the word "free". Because the definition I have, currently does not exist anywhere.

However, the USA was a whole lot MORE free before the 342 page patriot act was somehow passed through congress. Read about all of the rights it violates here-easily explained and easily understood: http://maliciousguy92.********.com

BTW, the part that is pinned out is actually:
    B.L.O.G
    S.P.O.T

written as a whole word of course- anyone should be able to figure it out- i'm not sure why its blocked...

I think it's hilarious that you're bitching about how your "rights" to freedom aren't absolute, yet at the same time saying that others should have even less rights.

Umm.. All I said is that the united states is a constitutional republic.

That means, that you do have freedom of speech, and everything else entailed to you in the constitution.

Just wondering how you can possibly know how it feels to have your job "taken" by an illegal, if it's never happened to you.
