I would say that philosophy is nothing more than conceptual analysis, or the evaluating of the logic of a belief, statement, etc.

I believe I read this on a book once. The theory in there was that all times are going on at the same time, which would make time travel possible. All times, down the the very last nanosecond, are being repeated yet played forward at the same time.

As for the dream theory, I think dreams are us in different times or dimesions. Assuming the same person exists in every dimension, that is.

Don't flame, ponder it for a while. I saw down for a solid half hour thinking this over.

Out of all the theories, this one is something I thought about before. I am also convinced (just like there are other lives in the universe) that what we live now maybe not real. Why, even our own eye/brain could be faking it where as the reality we maybe eating shit of an alien and our brain maybe interpreting it as hamburger (now thats just an example...in that example, im taking out who made the hamburger etc)

too bad hes banned. he brought some nice points. but about platos cave. i read the actual article plato wrote about 2 days ago. of course u wouldnt want to go back. u just saw the real truth of the world. what kind of fool would want to go back to a place where they know everything is a lie? it would drive them insane. but i think there was another meaning about how people dont pay attention to people who r really in power. i think it was more a political statement about his time. there is really more to that story.

Your eyes could be deceiving you, but what are the odds of that?

All things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually the best.

what do you think about colors? i know its kind of irrelevant, but a friend and I were having a discussion about perception and this came up.

What if what i percieve as green, someone else percieves as red? and the same with light and dark?

There would be absolutely no way to know, but it always made me think.
