Boredom.

I am posting this in hope to find some suggestions on what to do with all this time i have, now that i have quit runescape.

I am 16, and have just entered the 9 week summer holidays, its been 4 days and i'm already bored as shit. Runescape used to fill all my time, and i used to like it, as i could look at the end of the day and see what i had achieved, and that the achievemnt will always be there (experience on my char).


I'm no nerd, dont get me wrong, i have a Gym set, boxing bag which i'm always working out at maybe three times a day, i got a girlfriend, but she's mostly busy due to her dancing. I'm also in a band, but we cant get together and practise every day..

In these 4 days i have found myself just lying in bed, until like 1 Pm (wondering what the fuck i am going to do all day). Then next thing i know its 6 oclock at night, my mums home, i've just played aorund on myspace all day.. with the occasional workout and maybe half an hour practising drums, or written a song. Also the occasional swim. I never intake anything healthy maybe like chips and a fucking ice-cream each day.

I really hate this fucked up lifestyle.

I got tonnes of friends and shit, but they all do shit like work, and other stuff.

I would really like to take up a programming language, i know the basics of most, just whats holding me back what to actually program? anything i make will be a shitter version of somehting thats already been made.

I refuse to get a job at this point in time, i get money off my mum and dad, and off the governemnt. I hate working, and am trying to not work unless it's a top job (after university education).

I have plenty of games like single-player games (Ut2004, Oblivion ect.) but i cant stand them either, if things still remain boring, i am thinking of taking up WoW or MMORPG, but i really don't want to resort to that, as it will do what Runescape did to me. Just fuck me up over time.

So yeah, i am thinking of starting up skateboarding again, but really there is nothing to take up my time, nothing i really want to do.

I also dunno wtf i want for christmas, at this point im getting Mike stands, and amps, i know it sounds bland but its nessicary to complete my dreams of being in a succesful band.

Yeah, so i basically got 9 weeks of holidays, with nothing to do, except keep fit and eat bullshit to eaquel it out. And play drums and guitar and bass... and write songs, but am still left with hours of bullshit.

Suggestions pls? Thanks.

Haha, theres only really parties on the weekends, and that shits alright, but yeah my mates are always preocupied with their bullshit, i cant even stand them sometimes. And alot are still in school (we got off 2 weeks early).

 

Join dance with your girlfriend... It will provide you with more time with her, and you will get in better shape. Also get in any sport, doesn't matter which one.

 

Learn. Anything, and everything that you can. It'll pay off.

 

Think of what your going to be doing in your future after high school, and like Shredder said, learn. Like me, I am looking to go into the automotive business after school. I currently take autoshop 2 periods of the day and when not on Counterstrike (the only online game I play), I have something up online, in another tab, thats related to the auto group. When I am on Sythe or Myspace or whatever, I will switch over from time to time and just learn a little bit more. It really helps.

 

MMORPG isnt a game its a multi million online role playing game. so its lots of games, and yeah as shredder said if you got nothing to do just go learn stuff. or stay on sythe. OR go find something your good at and work on it, say you like keeping fitt, become a body builder or a boxer.

There are no sports run in the summer break, so that cancels that.

I really want to learn, aswell, so i don't end up looking back on the holidays with nothing to show.

When im older, i am going to be doing something in the computer field. Programming of software design will be it, hence in year 11 next year, my whole course is based around computers (6 units) maths (4 units) and music 2 units.

Thats why a programming language looks promosing, for me to start on, yet i don't just wanna do random shit, i want to come up with an end product, worthy to look upon. But really, its just the thought that anything i will create will only be a worse version of an idea thats already been created.

 

I agree. Wouldn't hurt to know everything.
But yeah, try to learn everything possible.

 

Im in same situation mate, i try to just go around on my bike for a bit every day, and just waste the time by all means possible, workout, bike ride, bit on the net here and there but still its a long day, i dunno if your looking into computers so much ask one of the sythe programmers or something to start to teach you basics, or look up tuts on the net.

Work,even if you get money from your parents and Government,Get to know life more,take in the lifestyle,your parents won't last forever,you should learn how to earn money by yourself instead of staying doing nothing.

 

Looks like RuneScape ruined someone's Social life (I know those exact words have been said before by other people, but its the perfect time to say them)

ahh, there are many things to make in the software industry. Personally, I'm leaning more towards the coding part of games development, so I'm given an idea and thats what I program, I don't have to make the ideas myself.

DO NOT TAKE UP WOW. It's RuneScape all over again, except bigger.

 

Have you got guitar pro?

I can EASILY spend all day on it learning/practicing new songs.
Since you suposedly play guitar bass and drums i assume you will easily be able to kill time.
Trust me time flys by and plus you can get very good at your instrument very fast this way.
If you dont like that idea save up for a motorbike or take up drawing, both are fun.

 

I have guitar pro, with the RSE.

I don't see the the sense in jamming with guitar all day, then play bass in my band. I do spend some time each day on guitar/bass but i tune out within 20 mins or so.

Also, hey Will hahahaha. Suprise seeing you here, i actually went to the beach today (with my dad) and it rained like a bitch. But yeah, we will definatley catch up.

Also, i am not getting a job. I'm not saying i don't need one because i get heeps of money from parents / government (I dont, roflmao). I'm just happy to not have much of my own, its cool haha.

I am thinking of doing up a room downstairs, putting the computers down there, the drum kits, amps/guitars, and make it like the ultimate room, (purchase massive speakers, line the wall with carpet). And a bed and fridge, so i can hang there (right next to boxing bag/gym).

Sounds good,even though you don't want to get to real life and its issues,do you have a big tree around your house?if so then you can spend your spare time building a small hut,lol.

 

WoW while your friends are working. go to parties at night and get messed up

 

Could try get as much body building / fitness and good diet while you have the time to prepare meals and go for runs and the gym and such. Would take a nice chunk of time out of the day and awesome long term benefits.
Also.
Doing up a room etc. sounds like a sweet idea. Would be alot of fun plus awesome chill out spot to:
Hang with your girl.
Play blink & B.T Really loud.
Party crib.
Get fit while listening to the uber loud B.T
Relax.
Band practice if the rooms big enough.
