SECURITY PSA: Trezor hardware wallet vulnerable!

Trezor — security glitches reveal your private keys!

 

If I read correctly, this only applies to a trezor that is in the physical possession of the "hacker", so leaving it in a Safe or somewhere secure leaves it pretty safe compared to carrying it around with you like a wallet.

I don't know about you guys but my Trezor sits in a safe and is only taken out to transfer funds into it, nothing more. I don't travel across boarders with it, I don't carry it to work or to classes.. I just leave it at home and use it for what it's supposed to be used for, which is keeping my funds all in one place, safely.

 

the point is though they can still be stolen; however unlikely it may be it is possible - when these products are specifically designed to make that not possible, with trezor it is.

If someone was to break into your house; or the IRS managed to seize it, they'd have full access without your consent.

Yes keeping it in a secure location helps with this; but it's basically the same as keeping your wallet in a safe place - it can still be stolen however.
