    Computer Boot Error, Urgent

Ok I just had a power surge and my mom's computer was hit. I tried to start it up, but I reach a screen that says.

    Boot From CD:
NO BOOT DEVISE SELECTED. INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS F1 TO CONTINUE OR PRESS F2 TO SETUP MENU.

We have way too much stuff on that computer, and I absolutely cannot lie down and let this happen. I was wondering if there was even a chance of recovering the information, I don't care if the computer is trash, I just need the information on it. So is it even remotely possible to like take out the hard drive and put it in another computer to transfer data?

When you boot it up. Hold F8 and see if you can log on via Safe Mod.

Yea, just try that, or hit F8 when you boot, and choose USE LAST SETTINGS THAT WORKED. If that doesnt work, try booting into safe mode.

    You guys are noobs.
When the Power got shut down most PC will reset there BIOS settings thats why he can't enter Windows.

So he only needs to edit the boot up sequence.
Just restart you PC and hit the Del,F1 or whatever key on ur keyboard that is needed to enter ur BIOS.

    Then edit the Boot Sequence...

    First Boot Device [CD-Rom]
    Second Boot Device [Floppy]
Third Boot Device [HDD-0] (The one that has windows on it)

Then save ur BIOS settings and restart ur PC now you will be able to enter Windows.

yeah its proble because its not finding your hard drive.. Press delete or f12 (depending on your computer) and make sure it boots to the hard drive. If it still dosent work make sure its plugged in. and if it still dosent work and its making wierd noises its proble broken

You should use an adaptor that protects against a power surge anyway.
