As the title says, my motivation to play the game is gone.

We've all been there at some point of our "Runescape career" but I wanted to know what tips/advices would you give to someone who wants to make a comeback or simply share what you personally do when you return after a break.

I think joining a new clan can help with re-motivating ones self for the game again.

Even though you'll be doing the same things but it's always nice to meet new people. I'd suggest joining a large clan who do a lot of pvming. That's my advice pal.

I guess it really depends how far you got before you got tired of it...Is your account maxed? Can you do most of the end game content or are you still building up to be able to do that stuff?

I personally can't play RS for long before I get before I get bored and start another account, then repeat the process.

I myself enjoyed clanning if you have the time/account for it....But then again I haven't really clanned in 2 years since VH closed down, so it might be different now.

Mhm. Alright so clan aspects is something I should take into consideration. Thanks for your view.

I currently have an okay-ish main so no, I can't do end game stuff.

Yeah I totally understand that situation, I, myself, am the same.

Back in the old days when clan wars was active, I would spend hours to the minigame. Like you said I think clanning is very less active, if not inactive compared to what's it been. I'll try to dig up a bit and find some informations about the clanning scene.

    Thanks for your input.

I hated the clan wars events when my clan would have a set ops fight against someone else, I much preferred wilderness wars where it required many hours of returning to keep the fight going.. It was costly in terms of return gear but it was a-lot of fun at the end to see who would win.

We even had a 24 hour rag war for the Greater Demons against JaJa where we literally had a player at the greaters for 24 hours just to fight for the win to see who would stop first. Loads of fun, but lots of hours with the intro process and all that good stuff. Also for the maxed clans with real potential you would need to know someone already existingly in the clan world to get the referral or they will think you are spying, etc.

So do you want to come back to the game or do you want to leave? Don't feel pressured to do something that you don't enjoy man

What I would recommend is find something that gets your adrenaline pumping. Back when I could play castle wars on my maxed main with a chaos maul or barrage, I only cared about logging in to play a few games every night. It would be my religious thing every night. Then eoc came out... but 07 is here to stay so thank god.

Definitely agree on that, however the trick is to find the nature of that goal.

Good old days indeed. Quite interesting what you're suggesting here but all around, it makes sense. Build around something that keeps you hyped. Thanks for your opinion.

No problem! It's pretty lame having to start back over again after all that work on my original account. But rs3 is trash so it is what it is.

Edit: the best and the worst addiction I had was barbarian shark fishing lol. I spent so many hours catching sharks. I ended up with almost 50k in my bank.

Just to tell you OSRS community is kinda mature as most of players are 18+ ... it is fun to come back and return the old days , and as @sammybarcode said joining a clan is fun too ..

Ntw if you were a botter be aware , jagex now is so much better at handling botters...

Good luck playing enjoy OSRS and welcome back :)

Yeah I really did enjoy my time when 07 came back. All the "old" lads coming back to their childhood's game really created a huge hype.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Try out a new account build or even an ironman. Can be a lot of fun starting over :)

Do unique things, take inspiration from streamers/you tubers series. Do fun pking situations like pking with limitations. I find that Going for quest Cape and completing diaries can be a good way to get a balanced fix of all things runescape as your not just doing one skill or killing one monster, you're gaining levels in multiple skills to complete a goal! Well worthwhile.

Hope you find what you're looking for pal.

You need to set goals. An ironman account for me personally helped spark that because there is many lights at the end of the long grindy tunnels. If that's not for you then set other goals like 10 tier 10s pking for example

Yeah, I made myself an ironman back in the end of 2016 and it really kept me focused for literally 3 straight months. Sadly my mind changed and I don't have the account anymore but creating a fresh account, potentially a skiller, could very well be the solution.

Never really been a quest fan honestly, I see them as chores. It's obvious though, quests are the perfect mix of things in order to eventually complete runescape. I might have to work on that aspect if I want to get myself back in to the game.

Mhm, I see where you're coming from.

After reading and thinking about all of your feedback, I think I made up my mind. A combination of a new account build with preestablished goals, that will not only bring back childhood memories, but will also keep me focused and hyped throughout this journey, could potentially be the perfect combination of a successful comeback.
