Riverdale

Was casually perusing Netflix bored as hell and figured I'd give Riverdale a shot. Actually.....really impressed so far. It's got murder. It's got babes. It's got relatively good acting. They seem to have a lot of production money to blow. Reminds me of a more professional version of MTV's Scream series. Also a tinge of Wayward Pines portraying this perfect little town with tons of secrets and mystery.

I actually recommend watching this. If you like murder/mystery/babes it's at worst a good time waster show.

It's hard to really describe it. It definitely makes you miss your High School days in a weird way. One of the original Arrow writers writes for the show (wrote for it back when Arrow wasn't poop trash). So if you're bored and looking for mindless television, give this a shot. I mean seriously, at worst you're watching for the hot babes. Even the mom of the daughter is a total MILF.

You'll thank me later. I'm not saying it has the depth of a Lost or Breaking Bad but it's a good whodunnit time killer show.

 

use to love watching archies weird mysteries cartoon as a child. Have you ever seen this cartoon and is it similar to it in any way?

nevertheless i think ill give this series a go either way. Just need to find time considering ive just binged watched GoT.

 

So I know it is based on that but can you tell me what that cartoon entailed/what it was? Because I'm actually not familiar with it. But yes, the show is pretty awesome. I was hooked after just a few episodes. I'm really into the mystery / drama stuff. Especially when it gets closer to October and fits the mood well.

I thought it'd be real corny (most horror stuff is) but it isn't too corny. Like I said, they seem to have money to blow from a production standpoint, and it seems to do really well on rating websites.

 

Stoked for the new season.

The only thing i noted was that tbh the writing for character Archie sucks, and i find that conflict resolution happens unusually fast and it makes the pace and writing of the show feel awkward at times

 

Yeah I'm seeing that here as I'm into the fourth episode, things move quickly and then get resolved quickly. But I'm still diggin it. I love how the adult characters are even more seedy than the kids.

 

the cartoon had a scooby doo kinda vibe but had its own style

only thing i hope for when watching this series is that the mysteries dont get too repetitive

 

So far, there's one huge overarching mystery that the season revolves around with all characters having seedy attributes to them and many doing highly suspicious things to make you wonder if they're the one that is responsible for the mystery murder. So it's a lot like Scream in that regard as well. Planting seeds of doubt in every character. 4 Episodes in and I have no idea who to even suspect.

My only worry is longevity of the show once the original mystery is solved.

 

Just watched the trailer on youtube and it looks quite interesting, i'll give a couple of episodes a watch and let you guys know what I think

 

I thought it was going to be stupid but I watched the first season and I really liked it. I watched the premiere for the 2nd season and it was good. Probably not going to watch it weekly because I don't really do that for any shows since I like to wait for them to come on Netflix and watch them all at once, especially with the CW shows since I like most of them and they all arrive around the same time. If the premiere and last season are any indicator I think this season will definitely be something to look forward to.

Yeah I think I'm just gonna wait for them all to hit Netflix for S2.

We'll have to see how it pans out getting expanded to 22 episodes. Seems like way too much content for this show but I guess we'll see.

Lol aiight, I have to catch up on em first, so ungodly far behind on Flash/ Arrow. Like at least 2 seasons for each.

 

I've heard of DNT users being a threat to this website but never seen it as much in action as I do in this post right here

The most recent season of Arrow was great (IMO) and the most recent premiere was ok

CW put out two new shows this past week too, Valor looks good not sure about Dynasty

 

I watched the first season on Netflix and I actually though it was pretty damn decent. The second season is now airing on CW and this season seems even better than the first.

 

Im up to date on riverdale atm Season 2 ep 8 and i think the show is good but has a different vibe compared to the cartoons i use to watch.

btw i did not expect the black hood to be tht person although it was kinda obvious xD

 

Being 22 I can confirm this is a sick show, pretty damn good, won't hear me confessing about that in person but hey give it a shot same with stranger things!

 

Going to be watching it once me and the girlfriend finish up on Daredevil and some other shows. Keen to watch it though given what people have said about it so far.
