[Food] Jack in the Box - Smoky Jack Burger Review

I went to Jack in the Box to satisfy a late night craving for some food. I thought about getting their new loaded Hash Browns, but I decided to get something more plain.

Price Paid: $4.99 apparently for a combo. Burger is supposed to be $3.99. My location had wrong prices, because this burger is too small to be priced at $5.10-$5.50 area.


The hunk of dry meat they called a burger patty took the front seat for this. It is the same patty they use in the Buttery Jack line of burgers. It has a strong and unique taste, but the Buttery Jack sauces have a strong flavor to coincide with them. Not the case here.





Unique properties:

Smoked Chedda - Ain't nothin' betta than smoked chedda. Except in this case. It had a lighter flavor than their normal cheese, and no smokey flavoring. I figured this would be the case, but as a smoked cheese lover this is what drew me in.

Hickory Sauce - I don't know what type of hickory sauce is white, but this sauce had a light flavor as well. The last bites which had accumulated sauce did taste pretty good, but this sauce cannot lift the patty up in my opinion.

The burger also had (ek) slices of bacon. I want my bacon BIG and CRASPY! But it is fast food, so...

Poppy Seed Bun - Tastes like any other bun when you eat the burger, but when you bite into the bun it is actually a pretty decent bun. I dig it, but it didn't add much to the war chief of a burger patty.

High 2/5. That's 2 notches below the average 3/5 rating. Eh.

I wouldn't get this burger again. Boring. Uneventful.

Also, I had the Jumpin' Jack drink. It is Raspberry, Lime, and Cherry I believe. Awesome combination, but as sweet as the Devil's anus (and he's got a sweet butt, baby). 4/5.
