Did Anyone Buy An Oculus Rift?

I'm specifically referring to the consumer version/CV1. If you did buy one, have you gotten it? If so, how do you like it?

I'm currently contemplating picking one up this summer once they're no longer back ordered, or potentially even buying a Vive (not really sure on either/one at all).

 

I havent bought one yet, however like you I was also thinking about getting one this summer, did you read their TOS lmao? Quite crazy imo

 

I plan to buy a vive with my tax return, but honestly 800 is sooooo pricey...........

 

I've glimpsed people commenting about their TOS, but no I haven't; what's in them?

But yeah $800 is definitely pricey, but Vive includes two motion controllers and I don't believe their delays are as bad as Oculus + Vive has a built in cinema feature and will be compatible more so with Steam than Oculus already is.

Oculus is still that solid $700, but doesn't even include touch controllers which I imagine will be at least $100.

 

Yeah tell me about it, all of Steam's suggested/featured games are VR now c.c I wish they had a way of toggling off VR game ads for those who haven't purchased it

 

Went with the HTC vive, motion controls are worth it. Not waiting longer for them

 

Yeah the 800$ is a bit prices.. might be interested in buying one aswell

 

i bought a fake 1 for the mobile lol it was pretty cool but not the full effect. I did it once @ a friend. It was a simulated roller coaster creepy af.

 

Yeah I consider the mobile ones more of a gimmick , once you try an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, you will be absolutely amazed.

 

I haven't mainly because it's still expensive and i'm waiting for the price to drop

 

My vive story , bought it once it came out thought it was going to be the coolest dopest thing ever. Well coudnt use it in my room because you need a lot of space lmao you have to set the 2 motion sensors up on each side of the room. No big deal I just set my computer up in my basement . It's super comfortable once you get used to the weight. But honestly once you play it 4-5 times it becomes one of those things you use once a week, you can't play with irl friends who are over like a Xbox, and too top it off my basement kind of creepy and whenever I have it on I feel like Freddy or Jason is gonna come out from under the stairs and kill me for 800$ it's definetly not worth it . I honestly use it more for Netflix now then gaming , there's a new audio strap for it that's pretty comfy so chilling and watching movies for hours isn't bad at all

 

I got it when it was first released and thought i would have a whale of a time when im in my box room (im in navy and my room is 1.5m by 3m, turns out you need a mansion for it to work kinda sucky really only wanted it to watch movies etc end up using a carboard vr thing to watch when im in bed lol
