    the earths fate

My personal opinion: all of these unfortunate happenings(global warming, earth's magnetism weaking, theories on the "ultimate flood, tsunami, earthquake", etc) will eventually lead up to one thing by the time they actually happen- judgement day.

Judgement Day....Ew that's so horrible, more likely than that to happen is sheep people will enslave us after they emerge from the Microverse that they have been living in and then will genetically engineer us so that our teeth grow rapidly, thus making harvesting them easier and more efficient for the bone hatchets that they need in order to fight the Frog people who coincidentally enough have a natural flaw so that when bones touch their skin they die.

Hm well anyways, i was watching the discovery channel on how in the future there were proposals of being able to build technology that can attach to meteors and other space debree headed towards the eart and then using solar power, be able to slowly pull or steer it away from the Earth, it was fascinating. But we will most likely destroy a majority of the Earths population in the next Major World War since the weapons these days are capable of Catastrophic Damage and those left will be Have Majorly Mutated Genes from the radiation, making all future generations Weeeeeirrrrd. Or natural distasters could happen on a wide scale since the Polar Ice Caps are melting from global warming which will upset the weather system.

We will eventually run out of resources to support life on earth and when that happens we're all fucked.

From what I read, humanity wont be fully wiped out by global warming but a lot of humans will be killed in the process. Global warming is basically a way that the planet is bringing an annoying species (humans) under control =)

Erm... The earth doesnt die because of global warming the only thing that happens is that we will get a ice age but hey...even without our CO2 emission there would come an ice age a bit later but still. That there will be a ice age doesnt mean the whole earth is filled with ice just a big part...humans could still move to other areas of the earth ofcause alot of people will die but not all.

I think the earth will end by Fire. As it is said so in the Bible in revelations. Then, we will either go to Heaven or Hell when God judges us.

Well, the part of the thread is to discuss the earth's faith ..

The natural disasters aren't the only thing destroying the Earth, sadly ..

The earth's faith is slowly difting into a nonexistant void of darkness ..

Whether you like them or not, people have religious beliefs. There is no reason to go after their reasoning or faith that something will happen according to scripture.

It's rude to go after someone's religious belief's because you don't have the same views. Just say what you think, because people don't seem to be attacking your ideas, even though I could easily point out your flaws and misunderstandings.
I.E. If there is a 'Nuclear World War', it will not mutate the genes of humans to the point of change in their physical characteristics.

Please be respectful of other people's points of view (especially a religious one).
Criticizing and critiquing is one thing, but attacking is something completely dissimilar.

No even if humans die out, there will always be life on earth, just like when the dinosaurs went extinct due to a comet and the biggest extinction is earths history when the oceans went toxic killing all land animals & sea animals - even after all this happened, life still survived. Unless ofcourse the earth becomes as unliveable as Mars or Venus - this would only happen if global warming (not necessarily caused by man, after all man only causes a fraction of global warming, the rest occurs naturally from volcanoes & the oceans, the earth right now is supposed to be heating up naturally because we have reached the end of the ice age) became so severe that the earth heated up, killing all plants so photosynthesis couldn't occure & there was no oxygen.
I think that humans will prob either become extinct from some pandemic like bird flu or a superbug like MRSA, after all we use so many immunisations and antibiotics that viruses are simply adapting/mutating and becoming resistant to them. It may reach the point where humans cannot develop drugs to combat these viruses or bacteria.
I really dont tihnk humans will die from a comet or something, it would have to be a pretty big comet and the chances are so slim.

Oh and something else, the earth is steadily moving closer to the sun, albeit only by a few cms every million years or something, so obviously the earth & our solar system will burn up and be destroyed at some point, they're not eternal.
Similarly the sun is dying all the time, once all its energy has used up then we're doomed (again won't be for millions, trillions of years)

I believe as the sun gets bigger, that humans will have to go to mars, where it will be warmer since the sun is bigger.

    the earths fate

Is this more of a question of Earth's fate, or humanities fate? All existence on Earth will eventually die out when the sun burns out (a few billion years, not my problem. :D). As of humanity, we'll probably do something stupid such as start a nuclear war and humanity will be screwed over, if not destroyed.

the sun has been burning for about 4-5 billion years, it still has another 4-5 maybe 6 billion years left...if you ask me..that's HELL of a lot of time..to find another planet if we don't fuck ourselves because if you think about it.. the universe is ever-expanding (but this is a different topic)

If you mean oil then no that won't be the end of the world, If you mean food then no food can be done indoors so we can't technically run out of resources if you prepare for such situations.

As for the meteor that is pretty far off but if it hits us thats it game over there is no half of the world surviving, no happy days because if it hits it will flame the planet and cause a huge cloud that will cover the world like before which will make super sub zero temperatures so it will kill all life hands down if it hits.

Global warming is the most realistic threat because we all know it is happening I don't really know anything about that those so im not even gonna comment on that.

I guess if im gonna die I want it to be quick so bring on the speed ball.
