    Deaf People

When I first started this project I thought it would be a breeze. But there were quite a few things I hadn't thought of.I didn't get the earplugs until I got to school, it was fun having the earplugs in at first. But I went into the bathroom to put them in and ended up getting one wet. It stayed puffy after that and wouldn't go into my ear quite right. Once I got to my first period;Algebra 2, It was very tough to hear what my teacher was saying. On top of that the earplugs were not comfortable at all. I had to keep fidgeting with them because the right one wasn't in my ear right. After that, I was walking to homeroom and some people kepy asking me my name, as if I could answer. I just shrugged my shoulders and kept on walking. Homeroom was about the same. During second period, it was extremely hard to not talk. The teacher wasn't too keen on the writing stuff down on a sheet of paper thing. So I ended up mouthing a couple of times. During third period we had to watch a movie. I could hear it if everyone was quiet, but as with a lot of classes, they weren't. forth period-ASL- was very easy, I figured we would have done something tough but we just played Heads up 7 up. Fifth period along with lunch were a bit strange at times. People just love trying to get the ASL students to talk. I thought ordering from the lunch ladies was easy. The first thing they offered I gladly accepted! During sixth period we got to play jeopardy. I just had to write down my answers on a sheet of paper and hold them up. My team won too! Seventh is P.E., which was easy because all I had to do was play volleyball, no noise involved there.

Once I got home my ears were starting to hurt, and they were ringing too. It wasn't that hard other than my ears hurting, they were really starting to become a bother by then. I was watching T.V. by turning it up louder then normal, but it wasn't too hard hearing things then normal. At one point, I was doing some math homework and my mom burst in saying she was calling me for dinner. I hadn't heard anything though. Taking a bath with the earplugs in was really weird. It was like when you put your head under water, only it was like that at all times.I figured if I had gone over to a friends or something like that, it'd just be tempting me to talk so I decided to just stay home and wait till I could get those things out. Sleeping that night was incredibly hard. Its hard to explain but my ears felt so bad while I was trying to go to sleep. Almost as though they were bleeding, even though I knew they weren't. I didn't actually get to sleep until about an hour after I had first laid down. I made sure my mom would wake me up if I didn't hear my alarm. The next morning though.. I did hear it. Its one of those really annoying alarms that you hate waking up to. My morning routine was pretty much normal. Once I got to school, I went to the bathroom and took out those earplugs, my ears felt so nice after that. They were really feeling bad around that time. Once I took it off it felt like I could hear much better than normal. I can't really say its changed my view on anything, other then that it stinks not talking!
