Sythe's own RS server!!!

i wish this could happen doubt it but if so it'd be sick

 

Sythe already said most likely we are not going to do it because of legal issues so why are we keeping this open?

 

I can code runescape private servers, I'd be happy to help out and get started.

sounds like a good idea. you could get money to run the server by having members\non members worlds. or donations like people have said. trust me enough people would want to play on it to get donations and members worlds. i know i would i want the old rs back!

If you want to play runescape try runescape.com? or come up with solutions rather then just ideas. Make your own server If you want it so bad and don't depend on other people that have the ability to do what you want, and do something yourself. You don't see anyone else suggesting things like. "Hey everyone, make a full free MMORPG and I sit back and watch and reap the benefits.

And BTW, you are the one whining. Sythe has stated he is NOT going to make a server. So close your legs.

 

Jesus, I don't know how long you spent on that post but I can code runescape private servers by myself and afford dedicated hosting. I have used Sythe many times before on different accounts which eventually I forgot about when I quit these forums many times.

well if the private server was big enough, and had enough people, then people would have the same incentive to rwt as in official rs, wouldnt they? i'm not saying to make this as big as rs, but if we had, say 1000 regular people... i dunno, you know? just a suggestion. anyways, i support this.

 

Sythe already said no, it is a great idea, but it is illegal. Sythe does not need more legal stuff to deal with. He already has enough with these forums, and then if he had a law suit, the whole forums could go down. I agree with everyone with the great idea, but it is illegal. The only thing that we could do it make our own game. Sorry guys but it is not going to happen..... Topic should be closed.

 

Well Mr.backseat mod I think this can still be done, how you might ask? Well maybe get all the sythe members you can into one team that is dedicated to making a private server, make a website/forum. Then dont go under the name sythe but have a team of sythians create it. Sythe said "HE" wasnt doing it and that doesnt mean you all cant take the project somewhere else. I dont see why sythe complains about this being illegal when there is a whole forum dedicated to private servers <_<

Hmm Curtis has an idea going there. But still, there are a lot of things canceling out the idea of a sythe RS server.

www.dodian.com has been pulling a money making RS server off for a while and they have not been in trouble, but it would be still be a big risk. Maybe at the start of the site has a TOS or Rules that must be abided by that contain something a long the lines of "If you are part of Jagex Limited, affiliated in any way or partners of them, you do not have permission to use or enter this site in any way".

Theres a lot more thinking needs to be done into this but the easy way out would be like Sythe said, make our own MMORPG, but the large downside is that we don't have many/no people who would be capable of making a adequate game. Then we run into the server costs and capability again.

Its a large struggle....

 

Well im sure we could start a thread requesting who would be able to help.

We could review applications and see who has the most experience and who would be able to put alot of time and effort into it.

We could also make a Donation Thread dedicated directly to this cause.
