Runescape Rares as of New Update

Heyy im not very experienced in the merching area etc.

But after the update rares have already started going down, green mask is 16.5, blue 19m and santa 20m. Im interested in buying one but im not sure what to do.
Should i buy now?
Buy when price is at lowest?(when will this be)?
Not buy at all?

Im thinking of buying a santa or blue h'ween mask then quitting
to play WoW

And what do you think will happen to the economy now?

If your going to quit just buy now, then come back in 10 years time when they will have reversed the updates and sell your rare for IRL $$

 

But i wanna know when the right time to buy is etc.
and what pro merchers think will happen.

I was lucky to sell my Santa for 23M when i had the chance... Stupid Jagex wrecked my plans with their updates....

 

They going to eventually go up, jagex wants the price of rares to go up probably.. so they gonna go up because they control the prices now.

 

Well, here is my opinion.. (it may be dead wrong, or it may be right)

Since Real-World Trading is dead.. the prices of rares "should" go up.

If people can no longer Real-World Trade, that means people will have to work for their money fairly.

..And since money would therefore be harder to obtain, because it cannot be obtained by Real-World Trading anymore, it would cause the prices of rares to go up.. (because it will undoubtedly be a bit harder to buy rares if you cannot buy RS Gold, and have to actually work for it).

Confusing?.. probably. I suck at explaining things but I'm sure most of you know what I'm getting at.

*EDIT* If people cannot buy RS Gold then less people will be able to control the market of said rares, and since there will be less people controlling the rares market (because you cannot Real-World Trade, and RS Gold will be harder to get) the people who can afford the rares will probably try to raise the prices.

 

I'm not 100 percent sure what to tell you because I'm not sure if rares will keep going down or start going up here soon.

 

well... if your going to quit its might as well blow all your money and look good while you are still playing...

 

the most best thing to do is.. at least in my mind, buy yews and fish, those things that chinese gold farmers used to collect, supply will go way down but demand will still stay. Yew prices are already 400, and if everybody buys, it will go even higher =D

 

actually i think that that'd mean it would go lower, cause less people would be there to buy but people still would want to sell

 

prices are slowly changing for rares, just check the GE everyday.

 

True, there would be less people to buy.. but the people who control the prices are the people who actually have them, not the people who wish they did.

*EDIT* Basically, you're telling me that if everyone boycotted buying Partyhats for the set prices.. and decided to get everyone to offer 10M less and not a GP more, that they would drop JUST because no one would buy them for the high price they are at.

..Um, common sense says this isn't happening. No matter how bad the non-rare owners wish it did.

Being the owner of a Purple Partyhat and some other small rares, I tend to think about things like this.. and like I said, not happening.

 

Didn't you read the updates, this is like the *patriot act* you will be banned/can't trade anything 3k above its price in the GE/GStore.

 

Try this, it's what I did when santas were 5m. Monitor the price of santa for about a week, if it goes up, buy a santa. and quit.

 

haha i did the exact same thing when they were 5mil but didnt quit
and just watched them rise
I ended up selling my santa for AUS dollars when it was worth 21M.
