Alright guys I'm selling my old website http://www.Tainted-Ones.com

Right now it's a site about ponies (long story), but I still have the old skin and all of the old data on there, and I will put it back to the way it was before if anyone decides to purchase it. It currently has almost 2.4K members.

If you purchase it I will give you the domain rights as well as all of the forum databases and such, and I'll set it all up for you. You will have full administrative rights, I do not care what happens to the site at all.


The reason I'm selling it is because I haven't had the time to maintain it in a long while, which is why it is mostly dead right now. If no one buys it the site will just disappear.

Back when the site was active it was not uncommon to have over 50 people online at once, often more. I barely used advertisements, and when I did put them on my site was already on it's decline, but the first month I got $80. We also used to be in the top 15 on RS100 before we became inactive.

The site was formerly about bug abuse in Runescape, if you buy the site you will also have access to all of my old secrets which are posted in the private sections of the forums, though I doubt much of it is much use now (though some probably still is).

Here is a picture i took 5 minutes ago. Note over 20 people are online even though it is dead at the moment.


Be prepared to deal with Jagex hassling you among other things if you buy it. My hosting bill was between $12 and $40 every month, the base price was $7 plus one dollar for every gig over 5gb over data transfer we used. We barely hosted any images on our servers, most of the bandwith was only from the forums itself, all the same we would use 30 gigs of bandwith a month on average.

The community still has plenty of loyal members who will come back and be active if you decide to maintain it.

You should warn your community members of the sale first, and give them a chance to change their passwords before selling the db to the new owner.

 

True, I was worried about the passes too.
There is a chance that the buyer just want the passwords.

 

All the passwords are MD-5 encrypted, which of course can be broken, but it's a bit of work. I don't even have access to the direct passwords, just the MD-5 hashes. But yea, I would send out an E-mail.

 

I bet 70% of all the passwords can be decrypted with a few Loweralpha Numeric 1-8 rainbowtables

I'd guess they are salted but if you have access to all the files/databases you'd have access to the salt. The only thing the salt would do in that case is delay the crack time of each pass.


Like I said guys, if only the hack of my account had occurred like one week later I would have known these things and changed my password.

Ponies took over Tainted-Ones. Actually im one of the TO proud members. Too bad that the recent rs updates (also a few older updates) nubbed TO. And ponies DID take over TO. And the world... And the pies.

The last post was like Dec 1(unless you count today's community post). Why would it become active again? And who would be willing to risk $300?

 

Why post if your not bidding? Fool, its an auction. Not a discussion. TO are massive, I was in them a while ago. I_Got_5_Phat lul. I remember bugging the duel arena with Drkswrd and Bom haha.

Extremely popular site, they buyer will not be dis-apointed with it.

Lol @ you mr... Who would be willing to RISK $300? Theres no RISK here, sky is like one of the most l33test guy ever, he ccertainly wouldnt trick someone. And if your smart (which ur not) the site could be up and active once again, with a lil help from a few friends and some patience. GF
