This second example explains a different type of bet, a bet I call an advantage bet or a "middle bet".

Sports betting agencies make it possible to bet on the performance of a player in a specific game. For example, it is possible to bet on a player to achieve less than or more than 6 rebounds in a game. As we know, variation occurs between different sports betting agencies, for example, agency A might allow you to bet on a player to achieve more than 3 rebounds and agency B might allow you to bet on the same player to achieve less than 5 rebounds. You have now bet on over 3 rebounds and under 5 rebounds your "middle range" is 4 rebounds. Bet 1: 100 dollars on John Smith to achieve over 2 rebounds
Bet 2: 100 dollars on John Smith to achieve under 4 rebounds

Total Investment: 200 Dollars

If John Smith gets 0,1,2_4,5,6... Rebounds you end up with $200
Profit: $0

If John Smith gets 3 rebounds you end up with $400
Profit: $200

Not to be an asshole but this is flawed and doesnt work.

You are assuming all these plays are +100 plays which middle plays (prop bets) are almost never +100 or better for either side

If the game draws it matters the sport but you could be a push or 100% loss

Why would you need a large bank roll if you win in general. Why cant you do this with $100 why minimum $1000

 

Do I have to wait a week before I receive my winnings? Say I bet on sunday, do I have to keep betting and wait till saturday?

 

Great points made, let me answer all.

1. I have been middle betting for a long time now. If we place a bet that will result in a net loss if our number doesn't hit we will still end up in the green in the long run. i.e. we bet on a player to hit 7 rebounds in a game with a loss of $10 if he doesn't and + $500 if he does. The odds are then $50, realistically a player can get between 0 and 20 rebounds in a game of basketball. Therefore, in theory, the odds for the player to get exactly 7 should be around $20 but we are getting $50 odds therefore we are playing an advantage bet, not to mention the fact that the player is most likely to achieve around 7 rebounds as that is were his line has been set. I can send you screenshots of my betting history of over 100 bets with results on all, you can see that this betting strategy is not in fact flawed.

2. Draws are taken into account when placing bets on win/loss markets. Also, when middle betting draws do not exist as we are not betting on a win/loss market.

3. You need a large bank roll to be able to accommodate for delays in bookies processing withdrawals. You can end up with all of your "$100" in pending withdrawals without any money to use to place bets, this can seriously affect your bottom line, yes, technically you can do it with $100 but you wouldn't be able to move around money quick enough and it would just be ineffective. 1k is the bare minimum in my opinion, I started with 10k and still had some struggles with waiting for cash to come back into my bank account etc. There are about 5 bookies which you need to keep topped up with funds to place bets..
