How do I turn off defence while using mage???????????????

I started playing RS3 a little bit, how do I stop getting defence XP while using magic? I tried looking online and a thread on tipit said to turn off the shield in the magic book but I dont see the damn thing??

No I never saw those options how do I get there......shit has changed since OSRS...

 

If you are still in legacy mode, it will be the crossed swords icon in the top left of your inventory box.
If you are in EOC mode, look for the button ribbon and click on the 3 circling balls of light. It will be within there.

 

I have no fucking clue what legacy and EOC mode is I'm fucking lost this game is bullshit now
