Sythe.org's Future?

I think we are going to have to face it. Runescape Cheating and marketing is going to die out soon. Noval Death sums it up well:

Is there any chance that in the future after all has been past that sythe can become another community? I dont wanna leave sythe or see it die as a rs cheating site.

 

Lol @ people saying "Jagex Defeated us". They were forced to seriously destroy their customer base just to put an end to transfer methods. They are going to lose millions of dollars from "defeating us". Who's the loser here? The guys like us who were just having fun and making some money on their game, or the company that is forced to cut off half of their customer base to stop them? Life goes on for us, the issues Jagex have created for themselves will be leaving them with huge problems for years to come.

that's aside the point; if the black market is dead, what purpose does sythe.org have? cheating can still go on, but how much of that is really done here? the primary focus of this website is real world trading, which jagex just killed.

what do you people plan to move on to, now that this website has no real purpose or use? are you actually going to start cheating now?

 

R2 sythe will go down with jagex...

 

Sythe will obviously need to find a new way to go with things. There are a few options. Firstly, account trading becomes much more viable with the new updates, as there will not be a way to transfer GP off an account. Secondly, there are TONS of MMORPG's out there. If the community settled on a game to focus the site around (that has a fairly similar system to the one in RS), then we could once again have a flourishing market. Another option would be to shift away from a one game focus, and move towards a giant bazaar for all online games. I agree, there is the Other Games section, but I'm talking about a total make-over, where certain staff are assigned to certain games. In the long run, this could lead to a site that is MUCH more popular.

 

i like that idea; more site users = more users for the IRC.

Of course, you'll have to either begin advertising again or pray that your current user population doesn't just waste their money on runescape. there ARE other MMORPG's out there, it's just a matter of reaching the people that play them.

 

Changing the meta description/keywords isn't such a bad idea IMO. At least Jagex was kind enough to give us some advanced notice.

there is no solution; this isn't just another mass ban or update to kill macros; they destroyed RWT, but at the cost of their game and probably their company. i see bankruptcy in jagex ltd.'s future with the coming of this new update unless it's reversed pretty damned soon.

 

I think sythe will handle it. Would hurt alot if a great site like this went down to jagex.

Oh, and for the record, Sythe has made it clear he has no intention of letting Sythe.org drop because of this.

 

R2Pleasent is right... Jagex didnt deafeat us. The messed themselves up.
They are going to lose alot of players and especially $$$.

Any experienced real world trader knows what R2 just said, Jagex has taken it one step too far.
They have used nuclear weapons to kill a housefly, and they are going to suffer from this more than any of us ever will.

As for the site, there are plenty of other options and games. Sythe.org won't die, Runescape cheating will.

 

As well as having more mmorpg possibly making the community based on gaming in general or warez you know? I mean it doesnt have to be strictly based on gaming but I just love the community and would like it see it advance to something else. I dont think we have to worry about advertising either. We have tons of members and if sythe DID grow into something different it would be the same as it is now, popular.

Today at willows, all empty! hmm players quitting i smell.

Jagex loses their customers.

Moving on is the best that could happen. Nothing we could do. We went too far with autoing/RWT. Not our fault.

Find another game and another and eventually black markets will crush all mmorpgs.
