Media bias in the United States - Wikipedia

A large majority of our train of thought comes from what we're used to seeing in the media. We are a more accepting and open minded world than ever -but there comes a time when we need to step back and reevaluate our own positions on everything.

We're open to gay marriage, sex changes, third world rights, animal control, abortions, and so many more things but where do we draw lines where something is right, and something is wrong? We used to draw those lines using religion, but as we're all aware religion has slowly worked its way out of a large portion of North American culture.

Many of my coworkers and and colleagues have no realization of what actually goes on in the world. Do US soldiers actually fight wars that are "protecting our country" or are they in political interest of big money? Is Trump nearly as bad as CNN and others say he is? Is ISIS real? Do the vaccinations work? As an average person you wouldn't know many of these things, but we can make guesses.

My question I guess is where do you all stand in terms of how you view the world? Do you find yourself following everything that is said on your favorite media site? Or do you like to think you're more independent and follow your own beliefs?

What really brings this thought into my mind is the Trump Administration. Consistently bashed by the media even when he isn't necessarily doing anything wrong. It's funny in a way because when now when I see a headline about him I don't even slow down - just another day.

Some simple questions maybe for you guys to answer and I'll play devils advocate on:

1) A man can love a man, a women can love a man, a women can love a women, a man can love a women so why couldn't in theory an adult and a 14 year old love each other? Or maybe a man/women and a horse? If you answer that "it's wrong to do those things" then explain why it's wrong. It was said years ago that two men could not marry because it was wrong.

2) Is there more than two genders? Is it possible that through lack of direction as parents that gender roles are lost? Or is it genetic and from day ONE you were a the opposite sex trapped in the wrong body.

3) Does the United States fight for us, or in reality is United States the asshole of the world? The schoolyard bully perhaps. Our main focus is being the biggest and baddest. Is that for our safety? Or is it to force our will?

In regards to an adult and a child; the child is still learning the ways of the world and isn't enabled to make a responsbile decision unlike the adult can; it's considered predatory and is there to protect the younger generation. If it wasn't outlawed then it would open the door to grooming and general advantage taken of our younger population. In regards to the beastiality; difficult one justifying other than the obvious "morally wrong" however i would put the legality issue mostly down to consent; an animal can't communicate it's consent to the human, also god knows the type's of diseases it could unleash on the world! (wouldn't want a half sheep half @Ardy running around would we?)

My opinion on this is no, there is no more than two genders - this is fact which can't be argued except in the rare cases where you are born with both. The "being trapped in the opposite sex body" is down to personality and how you feel about yourself as a person; through science you can physically change your gender to match your personality, but you are born one gender based on your sexual organs.

I'm not from the US, but my take on this is that the US try to flex their power on the world, and do see themselves as superior in many ways, which in some they are. However i'd say the schoolyard bully aspect is down to the policitcians in power, and how they control their country over the world we all live in. Trump for example is the biggest baddest country that bullys others into submission; whilst obama was more caring about the world we live in.

1) Okay, good answer. So along more similar lines but with a finer line, if gay marriage and sex is permit-able now why wouldn't incest be?

2) Do you agree or disagree that babies born should not be given a sex until they "choose" for themselves?

3) I would argue that Obama isn't much better than what Trump is. In a lot of ways I feel that some choices are being made that are different, but the main difference is in how the media is portraying him. Obama was always described by the (mostly liberal) media as a good guy (aside from the few hardcore republican networks), and now where the majority of the media is against him and the few are for him it's causing public to jump aboard.

Consistently these networks show polls of "approval rates" etc, and they're usually polled out of large cities where there is a strong liberal mindset which throws the numbers out of whack. This exact thing was shown when the polls forcasted a landslide win for Clinton when Trump ended up winning.

Same could be said for the "Popular Vote" argument. The EXACT reason the electoral college is used is for this election. This prevents major cities from choosing a president.

 

Q1 - The gene pool that makes up offsprings through incest decreases and decreases as generations go on. For example if humans decreased drastically in population down to say 100 people left on the planet, there wouldn't be enough to repopulate from this due to the amount of diseases and deformations that would arise from the offspring, they'd die off.

Q2- Disagree, the sex is predetermined by the chromozones that makes up their genetic code. They are born a gender; which through science they can alter as they please.

Q3 - no question here but i do agree media does sway alot of the "image" a president gets; you'll always get discussions on which president is better as everyone has different views; i just think "obama care" etc are good things; whilst banning transgender patriots from serving in you're national army, a wall to keep "them" out bad things, and that climate change is real and happening. Trumps an idiot and i doubt he'll serve another term.

 

You are all being slowly indoctrinated to as one , with no gender or identity , no family values & to paint your wind turbine pink in your back yard , wearing recycled climate change underpants. While the rich people rule and govern you & laugh as they spend your money Jet setting while you all squabble in the street about the latest football match .

I tend not to blindly follow anyone or any news channel. I tend to find other sources, listen to the counter arguments and analyze other points of view and THEN, I'll make a judgment based on my knowledge and beliefs.

 

Not exactly the way I would have worded it but for the most part this seems very true to me.

Stepping back and reevaluating our own opinions and perceptions is extremely important yet willful ignorance and fragile egos often prove a nearly insurmountable obstacle.

 

Todays world is a dark place and I'm scared to go outside.
