Gun questions

All right. I'm 18 years old, living in New Hampshire (U.S.A.). Am I legally allowed to purchase a handgun?

If not, which neighboring states would allow me to do so?

Anyway, not sure if you are legally allowed to purchase one unless you had it registered to your name, so if you did anything with it, they would know who owns it.

And I think you might need to be 21.

 

I think its 21 years old, btw if they ask why say from protection or for hunting.

 

Your best off going to your local council and ask them about it. Or walk into a store and ask them about what you need to qualify for owning one and reasons for use.
In most cases they will do a full background check making sure your not prone to violence ect.

Australia's laws vary each state but generally it's 18+, must live on/own a block at least * in size (Not sure how big) and must have a clean criminal record.

 

As far as i know they don't sell handguns without a license but you can get 2mm and shit without one.

 

Australia's laws are strict on this not 100% sure about America though. I'm sure you don't need a license in some US states just the clean record.
There's more than 1 way to get a gun though.

I thought you had to be 21 to get a handgun in the US? Also, it takes a few weeks if not at least a month, for a complete background check. Not sure? Internet! I'm trying for a handgun license as well. I'm from NY. It's a long process to get a handgun.

 

For NH, there are no background checks, no waiting periods, I don't need a license, etc. The only question is whether I need to be 21 or not.

 

In alabama it's 21 to own a handgun. I think it's that way anywhere in the US. You can own a shotgun at 16 though. I guess if you where looking to legally carry a handgun you could get a 4/10 pistol and shoot slugs or buckshot, or salt to be funny.

 

Im pretty sure you have to be 21 but to go to a shooting range and shoot
it doesnt matter how old you are. I went with my dad about a month ago (my dads a cop with lots of guns) its pretty fun but loud.

 

You need to be licensed, but otherwise you can just have a friend or parent buy you one like I do haha.

 

I don't think you can get a handgun, probably only a hunting gun.

Here in sweden, i know a gun shop you can buy 9mm and other hand guns at age 13 or over. =) , And they also sell Shotguns. but is private but my brother knows who sells.
