Hospital found a blood clot

so last Sunday/Monday i had an issue with my foot out of nowhere and I wasn't able to put weight on it

I was alone for 2 days and the third day we just assumed it was a sprain so went to the hospital to make sure I didn't somehow break my foot out of nowhere

So the nice lady I dealt with gave me some strong pain killers which didn't touch it and gave me some crutches to try get around on, I was using them for 2 more days and saw no actual progress in the pain or swelling and it was getting worse

Went to the hospital again 2 days ago and someone who has the worse phobia ever of needles for the first time I had to have my blood tests, after a while of testing my bloods they found a blood clot which was in my right calf... now I've had an injection in my belly twice now (the same day as my blood tests and yesterday) and I just can't move my leg without screaming in pain - now I'm someone with a big pain freshhold and I've been ran over before a few times had a motorbike accident and had my jaw broken down both sides....


Nothing is comparing to this pain right now I can't even take a piss without wanting to kill myself, and my problem is how long do these take to go? Those two injections were to thin my blood and I'm having a ultra sound later to find how big it is, and to sort tablets out to help get rid of it hopefully

One thing I'm wondering is did you ask the doctors if it could be hereditary? There are alot of causes for a blood clot to appear and one of them is indeed genetics.

You did well by consulting quickly. This is a type of issue where you don't mess around with it.

 

I recently went to the doctors with a similar pain, and was diagnosed with varicose vains - suspected clot but turned out to be that.

Take the painkillers that were given to you until you receive further treatment. I wouldn't be asking for medical advice here if I were you. Feel better soon.

 

We think it might be due to me not being fully active, whilst I am active in the day due to work and such at night time I like to chill out on the PS4 or pc doing services when my kids go to sleep, so it's sort of unknown but we are going to try find out in a couple of weeks

thats not good either my friend, hope you got it sorted, we thought I had a sprained foot to begin with but it was getting worse

yeah I'm on 3 weeks of blood thinners twice a day then after that going onwards to 6 months once a day to try get rid of it, also got a consultation in 2 weeks for updates

i don't know how to upload pic off mobile but I will give someone permission to do for me, my foot is blue at the moment and I'm in bad pain

 

Just a small update - pain is barable at the moment (morning sort of time) although it gets much worse towards the end of the day even when I try not to move around too much.

Blood thinners are still being taken twice a day, and I'm taking at least 8-12 pain killers a day which isn't really scratching the surface.
