Discord Donator Ranks

Something simple, after a user has been verified on Discord, if their account had a donator rank that could be applied and they could have a different colored name and perhaps access to a donator lounge.

Just something more to incentivize donating to the forums.

 

There are no ranks in Discord. There are usergroups. It is possible to add a donator user group so donators can chat in a private donor area. I support that

 

Ye this would be cool, would make dicing and trading easier for discord users, support.

I wouldn't want dicing to be brought to the discord that'll just be a shit show. But I do support donor user groups being assigned, I'll feel more privileged.

Nobody needs to know how much you've donated.

It's literally defined as the extension of the spam forum; and should be treated as such.

A variety of other members are ranked in discord, spam forum rules are meant for behavior in the discord.


I'm fine with one "donator" user group that donors can be in, but don't care to have multiple donor groups separated by donation numbers as staff has to maintain and verify it.

 

Sure, but this usergroup would not be given any privileges. Donating isn't a privilege, it's a choice.

 

Maybe a #donor channel, but yeah no other privileges. It mirrors Tech core, TWC, etc. in identification.

Well, you could feasibly argue you're privileged enough to have money to donate, making a choice you'd of been unable to make in a different situation

 

I like the idea of just one Donor Group/Donor Channel. Other than that, I disagree.

I don't mind having a donor rank that can be given to everyone that has donated. Would probably be something for @Shin to take a look at I believe.

 

Pretty sure 90% if not more of discord users, especially those that are active and recurrent will fall under that user group. Would only make sense to add it if the gap between donors and non donors is bigger. A donor channel would hardly be used either. Not opposed to the idea. I just think it would be pointless as of now.

 

i agree with a broke man this would be to much work for staff when you look at the donation page to see who has donated to sythe it legit says on the 5$ donator that there is to many and they can no display the list. If its to much work on the forums then its to much work for discord thanks

 

A single donator rank and a donator channel would be great in my opinion. Hopefully Shin would be able to easily add it to his bot to detect donator ranks.

 

It could be as simple as using shinbot for verification, it would take some setting up by shin but if a user was verified and if it was possible they could request to have the donator rank, alternatively if someone was a donator and wanted the donator rank in discord they could simply link their profile to a mod and a mod could add it.
