    Anger problems

as the title states after going through basic training and the stressful everyday military life my anger issues seem to be worsening. I broke a laptop I just recently got and just overall feel angrier over small things. I feel the need to fight anyone that looks at me wrong and I was never this bad prior to finishing. I work out daily and sometimes I think it's my preworkout and nitrates I take but after stopping them for a few weeks I still feel the same. Any tips for this?

Get medications. Might seem to be an over-the-top solution but it really helps, seen it first-hand. Medication can really help a lot.

Honestly, exercising really helped me with some of my anger/depression issues, and it helped soothe my mind, and overall just take my mind of all the negativity in life. Doing things like swimming, walking, running, or any other aerobic exercise is really good, and I'm assuming you do that, and that it helps.

I'd recommend considering counselling or therapy before getting medication, but that's just me. Medication can work really well though.

Thanks for clarifying. I indeed ment go to a professional first, he will then describe medication if he thinks it's necessary. Both talking to a professional and medication help a lot.

Beside the above, its true that exercising also helps a lot. But seeing that you're in the military I dont think you get a lack of exercise.

If your pre worked contained the stuff to release cortisol that's the stuff your body releases when it's stressed / fight / flight it sounds like you have some underlying anxiety issues go and speak to a doc , and if you use meds make sure you use them like you would use a raft to cross a river . Once you get to the other side let the raft float away and you can begin your new journey .

I do appreciate all the feedback. I might add that boot camp really intensifies the feeling of fight or flight for the first 2 weeks and after that my decision to fight became second nature. I have self control but I'm afraid I'll explode one day

I can respect that but if it's any constellation from personal experience punching somebody's lights out does not make you feel any better , it lands you in a shit load of trouble and you anger starts to be towards yourself for being so selfish and stupid . It's a slippery slope and you will soon find yourself self medicating . It is a vicious circle boss

How old are you? Sounds like you have an impulse control disorder. Lack of mental strength can impede your decision making before taking action. Wanting to fight anyone who looks at you is telling, and could suggest you're insecure. I want to reserve judgment until I get your age.

the military focus's on anger as motivation. well, theyre trying to do away with that now but its still there in basic training. As another military guy, i can only assume that you are working out and taking c4 or some insane preworkout. id cut those with more natural ways of getting big. even use vitapacks from GNC. id also pound a bowl of brown rice with eggs or oatmeal about an hour and a half. throwing tons of non natural things in your body has certain reactions on different people.

i can say, when im out in the field, i get pretty mad about the little shit. it usually reflects my caffeine intake. limit the amount of caffeine you have throughout the day, like maybe a cup or two of coffee or one energy drink. i used to drink like 4 rockstars a day, now i rarely drink caffeine at all because it causes mood swings

If this is something new, it might be worth going to the doctor and getting some blood work done. Could be a side effect of an undiagnosed condition or related to a deficiency of some kind. Hope you figure things out

I'd definitely try seeking some professional help and maybe as others stated, jumping on some medication. My brother used to be the same until he was diagnosed with ADHD and put on an SSRI which completely helped with anger management.

I did have really bad anger problems all through high school, I just vented my anger on family/friends.
Which at the time was really bad because of school work, sport commitments but i got through it.

I used the gym and guidance from an older friend to help me and later on classes/medication.

    Could be hormonal

Could be change of lifestyle and lack of expressing your feelings due to this

Could be numerous things, really. See a doctor and get a professional opinion but things like exercise or writing a diary can get those feelings out in a positive manner meanwhile.

It's kind of hard to tell from your post exactly what you're going through since it's really brief, my suggestion is to at least see a doctor who can properly diagnose whether or not your problems are serious.
