Why is murder wrong?

You haven't explained WHY it's wrong.

 

It's one of the 10 Commandments and also it takes someone's life away. How isn't it wrong?

 

Well, why do the 10 commandments form the basis of morality?

Why does the fact that it takes another life away make it wrong?

 

Cause if they wanted to be dead they would kill themself, you have no right to take there life away... It's theirs not yours.

 

But what makes it wrong for me to kill them? Why don't I have that right?

my opinion on murder/abortion
all animals have "murdered" another animal/person
people are the only animals in the world that kill for joy
some people can not help to kill in the belief that is right
on abortion is it ok that a person rapes another person and that other person has to take care of the baby just because we make her? do we have the right to say what someone else can and can not do with their own body?
when is it ok to kill someone without cause?
abortion is a very touchy issue
and what about wars? is it ok to kill thousands of innocents every day?
there are many causes of war one of the biggest reason is fear of death
we kill in fear of death or in pleasure
there are many good/bad reasons of murder
(i had a mind blank and forgot what i was going to post)

 

The question is: Why is murder wrong? So, what do you think makes murder either moral or immoral?

 

i posted my opinion on murder i have no view on why it is right/wrong just telling people about murder

 

i believe that it is immoral because I'm Christian and American. However, 700 years ago murder what not that big of a deal. People killed eachother all of the time. It even was present in the American "Wild West". Wheather it is moral or immoral souly depends on where you live, the time period, and your age.

Also

It can be said that suicide (taking your own life) is immoral but the Dutch has made doctor inforced suicide leagal.

 

This might sound bad but.. I think it is wrong/right Without murder us American's wouldnt have freedom. With out Murder lots of people could be killed now. Example- If we wouldnt of went to war with Iraq we wouldnt of found Sadam, wich could of led him to killing thousands. We went to war then we found him. We "Murdered" him for the sake of other people. I think it is wrong when someone Murders for the wrong reason like "BTK" A serial Killer that lived in Wichita Kansas (one mile from me) He killed about five people for no reason, "BTK" standed for Bind, Tourcher, Kill- He tied people up, then he raped them, then killed them for NO reason. Thats why I think its wrong. Also God said Thy shall not kill. so thats also why it is wrong.

 

Its not up to use to decide who lives or who dies, thats for a greater being to decide not us.

 

Murder is wrong, because your taking away the most valuable thing everyone has. Life. Just like if you steal a car, you take away someones belongings. Therefore, you'd get punished.

And it is also the Sixth Commandment

Why? And what greater being?

So it's only wrong because you could be punished?

Why is that wrong?

 

Why is doing that wrong?

 

Why is undermining their ability to choose wrong?

Why should they not be inferior?

 

Why is that wrong?

 

Why shouldn't they? What does it really matter? Their suffering is but chemicals and the firing of nerve endings; does that define why it is immoral?

 

Is it possible that you are confused with what is deemed as right and wrong in society? Were you not brought up on values? If this is a personal dilemma I advise NOT to go out murdering people, but hey, your choice. Maybe the whole idea of influence is a new thing to you, but nobody appreciates their death, and nobody benefits from it. Are you bold enough to say you are that selfish as to even ponder using any form of this tasteless ideology?

 

Actually, this is simply an exercise in thought. I'm not REALLY going to go out killing people. >_>

But hang on, nobody appreciates their death, true, but why does that make it wrong?
