slight advantage to those who have played before, other than that and it being heavily time-based this would/will be an awesome event. Vouch for it, played it and love it

Tried to take away as much advantages as possible anyone might have by making everyone start over with a new account. Also none of the rewards are a 'first one gets it' except for the RNG prize based on IV's so everyone should be fine

Yea in the research I did before making the event I came to the following results:

Having to screenshare/ make a recording every week can be a pain for the participants though, while events are supposed to be fun. This combined with the fact that the only difference the cash shop items give is a little speed buff, I dont think the cash items have too much of an effect. Instead of completing the miniranks in 20 days they will complete the miniranks in 18 days.

honestly, i enjoy the depth and time frame of the event. pretty sure some of the rewards are near impossible to get like the Rayquaza.
but that being said, i applaud @Buyacc for showing the community that he is there to support them and is leading by example.

mad annoying grinding.

I've finished emerald and leafgreen (LG > FR) 3+ times each, so for me this was just repetitive.

Maybe make the milotic achievement available if you buy the milotic below level 25 or something?

Also maybe add a mewtwo requirement similar to the rayquaza one?

Also change the rayquaza requirement to if you posses a rayquaza rather than catch a wild one? Because beating someone with rayquaza is really hard as well.

 

The rewards are based on the fact that the event is being held for one entire month and on me believing that they should be challenging - the Chansey, Milotic and Rayquaza arent ment for everyone to have, only the people that really went out of their way for them. The Milotic one isnt too incredibly hard, its very afk as well. Just use a Repel, watch a movie and when the movie is done youll have a feebas.

I didnt add a Mewtwo as a prize because I didnt want to devalue already exsisting rewards. Someone already has a Mewtwo minirank.

Rayquaza prize is already obtainable when getting Rayquaza through battle. Mudzilla did so as well, his submittion is on the first page of the event thread. Make sure to record obtaining Rayquaza. Bribbing people that have Rayquaza to intentionally lose to you doesnt count.

 

Really offput by the amount of time is required to actually get any pokemon related miniranks. Getting pokemon to level 100 is something I literally never did besides my first few times I ran Blue / Silver with my Lugia / Blastoise. Seeing the amount of progress made in terms of obtaining miniranks in over 26 hours of gametime is so low that I'm choosing to not even start. Personally, I don't see a point to participate if I'm not going to reap any rewards with a reasonable time contribution (4-5 hours). This event is literally grinding an MMO profile and attaching rewards to the most mindless tasks in the entire game.

Take my feedback with a grain of salt, as I was really only planning on putting about 10 hours max over the entire month. I know there have been some users who have been "hunting" for 3-4 hours a day and have enjoyed it, but this is such a minor population of Sythe community members. hopefully in the future there are a few more readily obtainable miniranks in the "grindy" portion, and then also attribute more miniranks and the cash towards the skill based battles.

 

The reason behind the prizes being challenging is for multiple reasons.

1. If the event would be like "log-on, play 30 minutes, get a minirank" the minirank would be completely worthless. They would basically be as prestigious as seasonal miniranks. Seeing as the event hands out (nice) Pokémon miniranks, making them worthless is the last thing one should want.

2. The event is supposed to be time-consuming. It runs for over a month, the event isnt ment to just log-on for one or two days and expect to have all, or the majority of, the minirank prizes. If you like those kind of events I would like to advise to try out the weekly events held by the CDT. They advertise their events to take a max of 5 minutes.

3. In the first week's recap you can see that the amount of people that manage to already get miniranks is quite high. Just to quote it:

As you can see, there are plenty of people who got prizes already in just the first week. From this you can also already conclude multiple things. The pokedex minirank is going to be close to worthless. The Chansey would be a 'meh' minirank for some time as well, looking at the amount of people who managed to obtain it in just the first week. In the second week (will post the second week's recap in a bit) a decent amount of people are going to be added to all the prizes too. Multiple people obtained Rayquaza, Milotic and done all the other minirank things.

To conclude I think the prizes are right this way. Some are somewhat easy, some or somewhat normal difficulty and some or hard to get. Thanks for your feedback though 1

The cash is solely for the skill-based portion of the event by the way, for the dueling side of the event. The dueling side also has an exclusive minirank, which only one person on the forum will have and two other miniranks as prizes.
