Staff signing reports [Xen add-on]

First and foremost s/o to @Shin for the Xen add on link . You can find it here: Report Improvements by Xon

It would be much better if you knew which staff member deleted/moved/etc your post so that you could discuss or ask them why. With the current way things work, mods aren't required to or forget to do that. With the add on seen above you can make it so that it automatically signs the staff members name. I think this is a great addition so that instead of people constantly asking why since they don't know who did the action to their post, they can find the staff member themselves and ask.

 

Support 100% just to know an indepth reason sometimes as of why. Would also save time on staff from questions as said.

Support - I like the idea of transparency and it'd be nice if people could contact the respective staff member if they have any questions regarding their decisions.

 

Support. It's something I used to do, and takes very additional effort. If there isn't an addon that can automatically do it, I think all staff should still be required to put "-theirname" at the end of each report that way the community can give meaningful feedback instead of 'the forums are online so it looks like they're doing great!'.

 

Nah honestly not really. When dealing with a spam report you have to at least look at a chat box. Most staff type 'Done' or something along those lines, it isn't much more effort to do 'Done -TySimpson' just so the person on the other end knows who it is.

 

Ahh didn't know this, I haven't reported anything in a while honestly. I used to just have a copy and pasted message along the lines of "Done, thank! -FlyingToast" and it literally took me one extra second per report to copy and paste that message in there.

 

All this is taken care of automatically so that staff cant give the excuse "Oh I forgot" but I agree. If the add-on doesn't work then it should be made a rule for staff to sign it.

 

Definite support from me. Easy for you to get ahold of said staff member in case you need to follow it up with them

 

I'm going to go ahead and leave some support here as well. Should be easy enough to implement.

 

Great suggestion as it's more convenient to have something like this to prevent questions being flooded onto a staff member that could have no idea about a situation that another staff member handled, so it would save time on their end as well. Support from me on this.

 

I am among the mods that sign their name and the only argument against it is it being a "staff action"; however, I only find actions that need to be defined as staff action are those of more complicated or controversial decision.

I will put a poll up for the signing of mod names, but until then @Sythe will have to review the add on/make the decision on that.
