Yeah I never knew this but this makes sense. Too bad 10 year old kids can lie and say they are 13 just to play the game. :S

Ya very nicely thought out reason. I know a lot of people in rl life who sold people rs gold and the kid they sold it to paid with cc. Makes a lot of sense.

that is true but i am soo pissed that other kids with their bad addictions have
ruined the duel arena. the duel arena was a great part of the game and now
it's wrecked. What about stakers and tanks? i go and get 40 or 70 def before the update and now they wrecked my great staker. i had a lvl 97 with 99 range and 70 def and god knows that tank ranges get owned in the wildy with
mage and melee so i waste my time making a tank and a lot of gp and little 10 year olds go and buy gp and wreck it and to top it off there trying to make
    up for by adding summoning.

jagex you fail at this update.

well then stupid kids shouldnt use the duel arena , fuck why do we have to pay for this becuase little 10 year olds cant fucking think ?

    *EDIT**

when you register an acct you put in your age , duel arena should be allowed to people who put their age as the 18 - 24 age, this will COMPLETELY avoid lawsuits.

A very good read, and quite explainable.

Also you could use the 'two bird with one stone' routine.

    Thanks for the update :)

Here's where your argument is flawed. Jagex does lose $ by removing the arena -- they are just as aware as you and I that many P2P'ers play RS purely to stake. They will be losing a significant amount of their paying customers to this update, so it is obviously not about money. Business-wise, Real World Trading is a very complicated matter, on one hand there are players who dislike the RWT'ers, and you want to please them. On the other hand, there are players who are always going to want to use their real money to progress their character, and if that is made impossible on RS, they will simply move onto another game. So it's best to find balance.

Sure, Jagex probably doesn't like the idea that RWT'ers are making money on their game, without even giving them a cut. But that's been true for years. I agree that they are happy to remove one of the numerous trade methods, but it is certainly not enough in itself to justify the removal of perhaps the most popular aspect of Runescape Members. This update runs much deeper than that.
