    @ The cow,
Paypal isn't corrupt, its the people that use it to scam that are.

Other then that, a legal course of action would be a bit far, sure $800 is alot of money, but what if he loses the case? Then he is not only out the $800 but the lawyer fees, or if he uses a lawyer that only takes a percentage of the money the case nets, then he still is out his time. All I can say, is take it as a loss because there is nothing much more to do.

The people who use it are corrupt yes. But paypal themselves are corrupt there are millions of horror stories of legit transactions where paypal sides with the wrong person etc. www.paypalsucks.com

Ffs. E-gold is a company that is supposed to allow users to handle there money online to buy stuff, ergo stuff from eBay. They are NOT a company that freezes accounts with no reason. Wow, who is the bigger fag now? eGold or Jagex?

    Decisions, decisions.

Rather unforutanate.... Seems to have caused a dent in my buisness as E-Gold has temporarily been removed as a method of payment... quite disappointing.

You could try taking legal action, but you might end up paying more.. good luck.

Something I think you should know:
You said you don't want to waste any more $ on this, but if you sue them you could obviously sue for your money + legal costs. That's what just about everybody does. Then you get your money + expenses paid, and e-Gold gets a giant kick in the pants as well.
    Win-win as far as I'm concerned. :)

Also: If Paypal is "corrupt", certainly not anyone I know has ever been scammed by Paypal itself (myself included) though I have had some relatives that had problems with PAYPAL SCAMMERS.

Note that Paypal and the people who use it are two different parties..
The company paypal is an affiliate of every major credit card company & ebay. If there was something crooked going down, I'm pretty sure we'd know about it. The fact that sometimes they side with the wrong person is just human nature, everyone makes mistakes, sometimes that's just beyond your control.

    Shit just happens.

For paypal, I use a credit card to pay for stuff, I never LEAVE money in my paypal acc. Paypal has been very good and legit to me so far and many businesses use it.

wow soo many people in this forum have been banned, anyway about E-Gold that is really sad to hear... I always knew E-Gold was a really dodge service, but that is disgraceful. It seems as if all online web payments are going to the bad side, E-gold has done this, paypal can close ur account or take out ur money balance... etc... really sad :(
