MIDDLE MAN

Being new to Sythe finding a Middle man for a trade is a must for most members. They do not know who is trusted and how they should handle their trades. Trading with Sythe Gold Can make Middle Manning go much faster. Lets say someone is buying Sythe gold for 07. You simply send the Sythe Gold to the middle man and one person trades the 07 and the other gets the Sythe Gold. The Middle man No longer has to worry about charge backs. It makes it that simple. This makes transactions for middle man to go much faster and smoother.


Scamming

When a player gets scammed it sucks for both sides. No one really gets much out of the scam and it just becomes a big ordeal. With Sythe Gold in play scamming I think would decrease a lot. Since we have admins on the forums that are very active they could handle these scam reports easily. Because of the treat that the Sythe Gold can be taken away from a player if caught scamming they would be more likely not to scam using the Sythe gold Currency. This makes the currency even stronger.


To add to this I think that Global mods and admins should have the rights to freeze a person’s account when a scam report is submitted. This would only be a case only if the person is being reviewed.


Quick Trading.

This is one reason why I think sythe gold could help a lot. Since you don’t have to wait for confirmations like bit coin. Or worrying about putting in the person’s email address for PayPal. Or waiting at a western Union. The quick trading of Sythe Gold gives it its shine.


When someone wants to buy 07. It will only take a few moments to buy it. The person sends them the 07 and the other person gets Sythe gold with a confirmation in Alerts. Since Sythe Gold is instant they do not have to worry about wait time.


Stable currency/Making Sythe gold worth it.


A few current suggestions that I have to make sythe gold worth it.


When a person Bumps a post they should not receive Sythe Gold. This would make it come into the market biased of player activity. Also rewards from community events. This would encourage players to participate in the activity’s on the forums. Thus making the forums more active.



Only Mathew and Sythe should be able to spawn gold. I know we all think the admins are perfect beings but this is also a market with a currency. If a player scams Sythe Gold They should be banned and any admin can refund it by making a support ticket. This would stop the creation of currency and all created currency would be tracked.


If you think about it this is how runescape works. None of the JMods can spawn any items into the game without permission from the higher ups.


So what I suggest that the Admins are given an amount set aside to refund players.

Some decent suggestions, and you make very valid points. Would be curious to see a staff member, or higher ups perspective on this proposition.

This is an interesting discussion. What is missing though is a way to buy/sell sythe gold that isn't just transferring to another user. If there were a way to buy sythe gold directly from the site and/or sell it back to the site as well that would better facilitate things like using it as currency for trades and you're right in that there are many benefits with sythe gold like admins being able to seize it in the event of a scam. There are a lot of steps between what it is now and what you are envisioning but it seems like this could one day be achieved

 

I understand what you mean by this but if you think about it. Why does any currency on this website that is constantly traded have value. It can only be made by the users and not sold by the owner of the site. BTC mining, Runescape Boting, Could be the same as forum mining for sythe gold. It creates a stable currency in which it is traded between other sythe members for value. There is always a market for sythe gold. When you make a store for sythe gold it just make the currency it self devalue. Also sythe him self will have to watch out for currency bugs a whole lot more since any transaction can be tricked. In the end i say that.


Should never be sold or bought in a store and always brought in my community contribution. The more members the more the sythe gold. In the future we will have sink holes with games and other things like that im sure.

 

I've been thinking about a forum currency or trading system to reduce the amount of scamming happening. I think that sythe gold could be it.

 

Ok for now I found a couple flaws/arguments in your "Stableness" part so lemme present these ideas to you

I agree community events is a good idea and the CDT is now incorporating this into our prizes (see latest sythe weekly). As for when you bump you don't get sythe gold, that's something I don't agree with. Posting to get sythe gold is a good way to get it and if you don't want a store, people need to get it from somewhere lol. Not everyone wins weeklies so that gives them a disadvantage.

1. Admins/moderators can see our IP. They can do much more damage with that than Sythe Gold.
2. Admins can already spawn miniranks which already gives them trust for UC access.
3. If admins were to spawn sythe gold, you think it wouldn't be noticed? Of course in the very rare case that this happens, then another admin can destroy it or if need be, Sythe/Matthew. Kind of like a checks and balances system between admins.

Actually this is incorrect. JMods can spawn any item for any amount of said item, but they cannot trade it with another player (their account literally cannot trade). Same with our admins. They can spawn any amount of sythe gold but they cannot trade it (against the rules, maybe system will be put into place).

JMODS cant trade the items they spawn. Why would admins need to spawn 1000000000 sg for no reason really i feel like your just making an argument on this point for no reason. I know they can spawn it they just cant trade it. But admins shouldn't be able to sell their sythe gold thats why they should be able to spawn it

When did I say admins need to spawn such a large amount of sythe gold? I'm saying its much easier to contact admins then it is to contact Matthew or Sythe. That's why our UIs, UTs, miniranks, and much much more are being done by them.

Again, they can do much more. They can already spawn miniranks which has more value than SG. You also don't seem to realize that admins are chosen for a reason. They aren't just randoms, they have given their time to the community and have shown lots of trust. Sythe/Matthew are both verrryyy busy people, bothering them with some Sythe Gold spawning is unnecessary. There was a suggestion outlining why admins should spawn SG, I'll link u to it if I can find it.
