Wonder if they're just saying it to prevent people from doing it or if they will actually be doing checks?

 

i don't think they'll care once the hype is down/1st 3 have won the prizes anyway

 

IIRC the only other time Jagex has taken action against account sharers was during the $10K Deadman tournament, so I think it might just be while the prizes for completing it second/third are still up for grabs. I really can't see them banning people for this otherwise.

As Meteor stated, the only time anyone has had any action taken against them for account sharing was in DMM $10k Tourney.

Now that the rewards are claimed and the hype has died down. I wouldn't be surprised if people start selling inferno capes for premium prices in a week or two.

I highly doubt there will be any punishment towards account sharers.

They don't unless there's a prize involved. Whoever got the 1st inferno cape got IRL rewards (I believe a "real" inferno cape and a trip to runefest).
They removed Emilyispro from the $10k DMM tourny because she was sharing her account to basically grind 24/7.

 

Saying and doing are totally different, Jagex may claim they will ban for account sharing but they hardly ever do so.

 

Banned all my rentals so I don't see why they won't do this either.

I'm sure they aren't fond of people doing firecapes on other peoples account either, they probably wont do anything about it..

I do wonder how long till we start seeing threads pop up on here, people are quickly learning spawns and correct ways to do it, we just need woox to keep doing inferno capes with low gear setups to teach the plebs how to do it

 

They aren't stupid - they are well aware of how much memberships and $ RWT keeps OSRS alive so it will be allowed after the prizes etc are given out.

 

I personally can't wait for inferno capes to start being done by our fellow capers, I will be the first to purchase one for my main as there is no way in hell I am getting one myself!
