Can someone explain the grand exchange in detail?

Well it didn't come out yet. The grand exchange will be in Varrock. A big house I believe or chest? Were you put your items that you want to sell and you put a price on the item. Once someone buys it the money will be located in the bank. I believe you will have to first talk to the banker for the money as it may not appear in the bank right away. And you can buy items from people at which price they set it to.

 

Which all means merchanting will be gone I thinks...

 

This doesn't sound good...like the infinite shop stock....

Grand Exchange isnt out yet, but I dont see why anything would be messed with. Its pretty much exactly RS forums except it more conveniently trades people.

RIP merchenting. perhaps someone should explain the greater philosphy to merchenting and make an effort to save it. Its truly apart of the game that makes it what it is, although now maybe things will be sold at a higher price, people will ask for more at first because its a auction system, and with auction systems everyone wants to get the highest amount possible, but then you have the new system of people buying the lowest bid and selling the item higher, people will start putting there junk up for lower and lower prices because they know that it's easier to make a buck that way than to sell at the higher price the item used to go for, then the game will be pointless to play. then again maybe a understanding of where prices will be met will come to play and it will only go so far to how cheap people will go, everyone wants a profit, but the only reason id doubt this is because theres soooo many people playing rs. oh well... just a thought.

 

Merchanting will die and my bet is that prices for everything will drop as the cheapest available price is now instantaneously found through the grand market. So we could see a bit of a crash in the economy. This will be quite interesting though. I've gone on instincts and sold off my whole bank hoping to buy back much more when prices decrease.
