    Why is murder wrong?

To end this topic once and for all... or get the ball rolling...

Conclusion: Murder is not wrong [nor right] and morality is illogical. (outside of religion... Morality being illogical inside religion too is irrelevant for now)

Everyone agree yet? If not, let the debate continue and post your reasonings.

    Why is murder wrong?

It is only wrong because from the moment of our birth, we are told that murder is morally incorrect and not legal. If we were taught that murder was an everyday part of life, and morally correct, then i'm sure we would follow that. It's simple really, in most ways you could see that murder is wrong because taking ones life in an inhumane fashion is just not right. I agree though, it neither wrong nor right.

    Why is murder wrong?

Its wrong because your taking the life of another human being. Can you imagin if one of your family members was murdered, you would be hurt. No one deserves to get away with murder and they themselves should be locked up for life or sentenced to death.

    Why is murder wrong?

Yes, you are "taking" the life of another being.

My taking the life of another human, and one of my family members being killed are two different scenarios.

Why do they "not deserve" to get away with it?

    Why is murder wrong?

Murder is an action with a consequence, as does every other thing we do in the world.

    Why is murder wrong?

murder is wrong because what makes you have the right to take someones life away. were all equal when it comes down if you're alive or not. which gives the common sense what makes your life more superior to someone elses life if your both living.

    Why is murder wrong?

What gives me the right? I'm stronger, and I'm capable of it. What wouldn't give me the right?

    Why is murder wrong?

Excatly, besides the fact that the person is alive what gives them the right to live?

    Why is murder wrong?

Rights are just rules created by humans to protect our race as a whole. Essentialy meaningless in the broad aspect of things.
I say, if you're able to, than it isn't wrong.

    Why is murder wrong?

As an individual, you could benefit from it.

It's only when society assembles and develops the consensus that murder is universally bad... and forms governments that protect a person's right to life, liberty, and property... that you can no longer do such a thing.

    So basically.

    SOCIAL CONTRACT (Locke) . kthxbai.

    Why is murder wrong?

Well, sir...I gave a definition of the word "soul" and also I added something from my own mind, which balances it out, instead of people just adding definitions.

    Why is murder wrong?

That's an entirely different debate... whether or not souls exist.

    Why is murder wrong?

The morons here sure know how to back-peddle and reiterate the same moronic content.
It's wrong because it's just not right? Haha... >.<
    *hand to face*
Lying is wrong because it isn't the truth.
Driving a car is wrong because you're not not driving it.
Murder is not wrong by definition. So stating the definition serves no purpose.
So anything that hurts me is wrong?
Yup, we're all equal... We can all take eachother's life if we feel like it.
The point is that people already know the definitions for terms like 'life' and 'soul', at least in the brief general sense that dictionaries offer. Unless they're retarded... which is likely, come to think of it.

    Why is murder wrong?

1: it is one of the ten commandments
2: why should someone have the MOST precious thing taken from them, without their saying so
3:would you say murder was wrong if you were to be murdered at some point?

    Why is murder wrong?

We've pretty much broken all of the commandments at some point. I've kept only the murder one, and the "honor thy father and thy mother" one.

    However.
Killing is justified when in self defense, and in war.

    Why is murder wrong?

    Murder's only 'considered' wrong..

There are plenty of reasons to kill and plenty of reasons not to. Killing somebody could be helping them, getting back at them, accidentally. The possibilities are endless. Let's give an example.

You friend is getting beat by his parents and he just found out he has aids. He's an addict and his life's just basically a shithole. He asks you to kill him. Because he knows he can't do it himself.

What would you do? Most people would say not kill him because it's morally wrong and you can save him through lot's of religious bullshit. But you know for a fact this kid isn't going anywhere but down a pretty steep hill for the rest of his life.

If you kill him, your a murderer. But you did it to stop his suffering. Now wherever he is ( Nobody knows till they die :| ) it's either a better place, or a worse place. Or it's exactly the same. You never know.
He could just repeat the same life over and over.

    So my point is...

It's all on the situation and the perspective. If your a firm buddist let's say. Your gonna think he's going to go to a reincarnation in a pathetic animal kind of form.

And flip flop with Christians. He'd be goin to hell for doing all the shit he did. But then again in the bible it said that the one who hates his life will have a good afterlife.

I don't know where I'm even going with this.

It just depends on your perspective -_-

    Why is murder wrong?

Could you justify taking all that someone has from them?

    Why is murder wrong?

    a person: human being
murder: taking a human beings life

this is wrong because, people work hard to have happy lives, why should that just be taken away form them to let theyre relatives rot in tears.
