Well, I went to the home page on Runescape and fopund this.

"We have made some necessary changes to the above-ground staked and friendly duels of the Duel Arena:

There is now a cap to the amount a player can win in the space of 15 minutes in a staked duel, which is set to 3,000 coins. This limit will make it harder for real-world traders to unfairly use the Duel Arena as a covert way of transferring items. Of course, if you want to take part in some high-stakes duelling you now have the duel tournaments instead!
The gp value of any item wagered in a staked duel is defined by the 'player value'. This 'player value' of an item will change according to any market fluctuations once the Grand Exchange has been introduced.
Logging out of a staked duel will mean that you have forfeited the match, and the staked items will go to your opponent.
Stats boosted before entering a duel will reset to their normal value at the start. You can still use potions during the duel, provided they haven't been disallowed. "

Is this going to stop rl item traders momentarily? Or what do you guys think? Discuss etc..

It's not going to stop any and I don't know why Jagex thought this would. Real life item traders can continue trading the items for smaller trades or drop trading the items for bigger trades so that Jagex's trade monitors don't detect anything suspicious.

They claimed to have done this update to stop real life traders and if that is their sole purpose I just have to laugh at them because it's not doing anything except causing thousands of players to protest and complain about the new method of staking.

Congratulations Jagex, on managing to fail oh so miserably once again.

Yeah, another half-assed and short-thought out plan, that manages to make 10,000 of their members quit.

Yeah, good thing I quit. I only go on once and a while to talk to friends, runescape is pretty lame now.

Jagex is making the most foolish decisions, they need to rely on us to pass it down to our siblings, at this rate, hell no.

hahaha yeah, anyways apparently jagex never liked the prices of the "rare items" being so high. but it was too late to say no these items are going to be untradeable after you just spent 3years making 200mill for a phat. instead we are gonna get rid of one of the most biggest money making ways in the game and hope prices will go down (this is why i think there making the grand exchange aswell.) jagex likes to control things and they can't control player made prices, so basically i think there idea to stop rl item trading was an excuse to control prices, trying to make rare items go lower and the cost rs gp go higher.

Of course a Rl money trader would use a member account to sell money...
I think this is just to stop stuff going down in price much... Or Jagex are telling us to skill much.
