    Questions about life? (Scientific-related)

Just finished a 10 week course devoted completely to how humans come to be (DNA, RNA, the whole scheme of things). Maybe you have questions on pregnancy, abortion, mutations? Ask them here.

If you have something urgent to ask, feel free to IM me over AIM: Jesterguy37

Not really, your DNA is imprinted, everywhere... Your body just makes copies of copies of copies of the DNA when healing, growing and when other things come along...

Is this going to lead to a pro-life discussion? God, I hope not.

do you, in your opinion think, it is possible for humans to mutate into something else, something like dogs, cats, any animal etc.

Maybe not mutate into a dog or something escpically after the DNA has been written on person, it can not be changed... But as the DNA is being selected and imprinted on your body, things may happen that I am sure can change a person a lot, but not into a different species. Maybe a genetic defect.

    Questions about life? (Scientific-related)

Jamal, I appreciate the responses while I was absent. I am now back and currently on sythe more frequently from my 2 day missingness ;). Any other questions, please ask, but Jamal has been quite right.

    EXCEPT:

Psybash: It is actually becoming scientifically possible to altar the DNA of humans into that of other animals. Although it sounds very difficult when I will first propose how, I'll put it into english at the end.

There was a project in which a devoted group 12 years into finding every single code of DNA in the human body and what EACH one does. It took them up to 15 hours a day, seven days a week, and 12 YEARS to do this. By finding out what the code for each strand of DNA was, they opened up a new door of possibilities.

EXCEPT: they don't know what each DNA is assigned to (chortles). They are currently finding that out right now as well, such as what bonds are devoted to what muscle or maybe to blood transfer, etc etc. After all this is done, they very well might move on to an animal (I.E. a monkey ((closely related to a human)) ) and then try to alter certain codes and form something, although it is against ethics.

IN HUMAN TERMS: No, it is not currently possible. Yes, it will be possible within our generation. We just have to solve the "puzzle" of the human body.

now my mind is back on the evolution/creation debate. bah.

but on topic: what would we need to do in order to create spiderman?

No problem. And no, a spiderman will never evolve simply because spiders DNA does not consist of Uracil, which bonds with Adenine in RNA, so it would be physically impossible to create anything of a spider/ human in the next 100-200 years I would estimate.

    Questions about life? (Scientific-related)

I've got a good question to ask. When does the single cell created by sperm and egg DNA become the rational outline of a human being, a human being which has the right to life liberty and the persuit of happiness? When does a figment of a continuously growing fetus become a human. When it develops a brain? When it develops awareness? When it exits the whomb?

Whoa nelly there, lol, lets break this down.

As for almost ALL of your questions, there are different views by people of pro-life or of other groups such as pro-abortionists, etc, and if I did not cover anything as to how you see it, just PM me and we can discuss your views on it.

When does it become a human genetically? roughly a few days to at the most a few weeks after the zygote is fertilized.

When does it gain pursuit of happiness and liberty? I'm afraid I, it being against my ethics and morals, am not going to answer that, but pro abortionists believe after about two months, while pro-life believe as soon as the zygote is created.

When does a figment of a continuously growing fetus become a human
? Once again, that is, as most other topics are, split between discussion of scientists. Many believe that is doesn't take long, and consider the human to be a "human" after minor developements have occured, but do some research on that one as I'm not quite certain.

    When it developes a brain
: It actually begins developing a brain very early after the zygote has been created, because it takes a long time for the brain to form.

When does it develope awareness? Religious figures say the baby has awareness the second it becomes a baby, which is the zygote. I, for once, stand against religion and say that it takes roughly 3 to 5 months for it to develope that.

Phew, rough questions, but if you are confused on anything tell me =).

I choose to stay neutral on most religion- involving debates, simply because I am a Catholic and sometimes I do not believe that the religious view is the right view. But if asked, I will always try to answer it correctly.
