    A 40k helm is now BIS over serp, they didn't even nerf it they straight removed it.
    Zulrah update is good, void update is good.

    I think the update was great, ash did a hell of a job on the world map. Glad he put time into making it awesome.

    Void nerf - Eh, doesn't really matter I guess, it's just used in pvp builds mostly anyway, so it really just keeps people from building stupid overpowered accounts at lower levels.

    I did see someone on reddit suggest keeping the set effect the way it was if the player was wearing the elite void set, which has some decent reqs, and i'd 100% support that idea.

    Zulrah - yeah really needed nerfed, fuck the amount of gp you could make an hour, was kinda gross.

    Serp helm - This really wasn't a needed change, yeah it's fine they lowered the str bonus of the helmet, who cares, but the venom effect that the helmet gave was pretty unique and I would support the strength bonus being 100% removed, BUT keep the venom effect.

    Void messed with raids a bit also. I would love if they did 20% for elite and if youcould get elite void with 85 combat but I highly doubt that will ever happen... RIP my pvp builds OP'ness

    I agree with preferring keeping the venom effect and losing str bonus or Atleast venom being capped to 12-15

    I disagree with Elite having the full 20% bonus. 15% seems more reasonable.

    Same thing applies here as the reasoning they did with Serp helm. 20% is too overpowered and leaves little room for improvement with future ranged armors.

    Serp helm str bonus nerf was too much, removing venom effect and keeping venom resistance was however a good move. The helm costs like 100k an hour to use, while that's not much, thinking about most most instances you would use it, it makes it silly to keep that high cost and nerf the strength bonus that significantly.

    Honestly, the updates were a bit shocking but overall better for the longevity of the game.

    Old School Runescape Update 5/25

    Seeing as they decided to post a new update today, here's my thoughts.

    Void Nerf: On the fence. It was needed for PVP, not sure for PVM. It was great for raids and many other things, but now it's useless and the meta is armadyl. The new update is Elite Void is 12.5% damage boost with regular remaining 10%.

    Serp Nerf: Completely not needed. The reasoning for it "limiting content" is stupid. They could have come to a multitude of compromises, but now it's trash IMO as the niche it filled was for Pyramid Plunder, GWD, and for unique PK builds. The new post nerf update is it works on monsters only that you melee. They have not yet addressed it's PVP aspect and I hope they do. Even if it's a normal helmet with the venom effect. This is what made it very unique and fun to use.

    Zulrah Nerf: Needed, end of story. It's still a great money maker if you can manage sub 80 second kills, which is easy.

    There needed to be a differentiation between BIS gear that's earned and that's bought. Void was high level BIS for a lot of things and it wasn't something that could be bought (Besides services but that's a different conversation.)

    A good distinction between these two things are Torso and BCP, they both gave the same Strength bonus but BCP gave prayer bonus.


    The Serp Nerf was something that somewhat was limiting content, there's only so many status effects that Jagex can implement without it becoming confusing for the average player. There's already 5? different hit splats and there's an argument that too many hit splats is just too confusing. If Jagex wanted to create a new piece of content in Menaphos for example that made weapons Venomous rather than poisonous the serp helm could limit this.

    Kinda salty they nerfed Void before I got round to chinning 99 Range but a great update for the game nonetheless
