Remove the "No vouch copies" rule in guide selling section

Shouldn't matter even though you're just tryna snag a free guide, if it's a new thread and the seller thinks it's fine, why not?

 

Suggested the idea of something like an official guide verifier in this thread, it was immediately shut down.

Guides Section is Cancer

I would go a long way from terming myself as a "professional goldfarmer" if that is even a valid term to use at all, but I do run 150+ bots daily. I've spent over $500+ in the guides section on methods, guides, and even "how to bot" tutorials. Not because I'm desperate. But because even learning one tip, or one improvement on a method can net me more than 500$ in a week.

Having spent this amount on probably 10-15 guides, I can say I would rate 50% of the information in them either outdated, untrue, or misconstrued by someone who has no idea what they are actually doing. 80% of the information can be found within 1 hour of research, 90% within 1.5 hours, and I would say 98% within 2.5 hours.

The methods themselves are one of three things.

1. Well known (aka trash) / Obvious improvements on well known (aka trash)
2. Over exagerated claims (cook <insert item here> for 200k/hr, but can only sell 100 of these per hour)

3. Cool, possible, but really too much trouble to be worth anything.

I would say im overly harsh, to the point of being a stickler. But if you are charging someone 30$ for an ebook or method, I would at least like to see that with effort they could make their money back in a week (or equivalent experience ect.).

@Shin / @Tmoe / @video If there are positions becoming availible for guide verifiers let me know. I'd like to apply to join the staff team as one of them.

- I think the first and foremost rule of these guide reviewers is that if they read a guide and decide to use it for personal gain (which as members of the market is completely legitimate). They compensate the seller of the guide for whatever they are selling it for (or haggle on price which can sometimes happen for new guides). Obviously this is up to the discression of the staff member, but they should in fact be legitimate enough to do this.

- Also think if there is a team (to @Shin / @video point) instead of a single verifier, there should be decided upon criteria to decide how guides should be rated. Even by a single reviewer there should be guidelines set. I don't think there is enough activity to warant more than 1-2 mods attention on this section (I do frequent that section and check daily)

 

Bump and go what @John Devola said, I agree with video that the activity in the section doesn't warrant it, rather have people who frequent the section like you and I do it.

Going to edit the sticky to include the following clause:

You are allowed to offer to review a guide for free if the user has stated he is looking for users to review the guide.

We do not want individuals spamming threads trying to review guides for free; however, if a user wants to find someone to review their guide, it is their right to do so.

So, half accepted. Closed.
