Ethereum: A new years report

But there was actual news, announcements... etc. for ETH just around the corner. It wouldn't have been senseless to invest into it, in fact it's the other way around. You had all the reason to invest into it .

 

I can't tell if these sporadic levels in price are from pumps or if it's just the volatility of all the cryptos at this current moment within the market. Thoughts?

edit: some major periods of optimal trading today. it's been as low as ~$130 and high as ~$185 (might be higher, I can't recall) USD.

 

The higher the price goes, the bigger the swings are to shake ETH holders. ETH investors are particularly hard to spook especially in exuberant times such as these, so unless price movements are drastic, most folks would just hold. Whales aren't in the game to make everyone rich, just themselves. That's why I've previously said that holders are the biggest consistent gainers in crypto. Day traders are gamblers at a crypto poker table with Phil Hellmuth, Johnny Chan and Negreanu, hoping to make the right call.

 

Okay- I understand that. It wasn't alarming to me since I look to hold long, but was interesting to see.

 

Just passed $200 on Coinbase. $250 by summer.

 

Just wondering if your opinion changed on whether ETH is driven by FOMO or not.

 

As we draw close to the end of 2017, Ethereum has made much progress in development and mindsharing of developers across all spectrum of industry.

Along the lines of my previous strategy, I suggest holders to continue to hold long term. Casper / part 2 of Metropolis fork is estimated to occur sometime before the end of next year, transitioning ETH off POW to POS. With many solutions to scale in the works, as well as a new programming language (with formal verification in mind) called Viper to compliment Solidity being worked on by Vitalik, Ethereum has a bright future ahead of it.

Did you hold onto your shares or sell @250?

 

I don't plan on selling, especially with POS in the works. There is much growth left for Ethereum in the coming decade.

 

With large institutions getting in on the cryptocurrency market next year in full force, along with major news on the horizon for ETH in 2018, next year will be one you won't want to miss.
