Koe no Katachi [Spoilers]

WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THIS. It came out blue ray three days ago and absolutely an outstanding movie. Very good, like kimi no na wa and it has such a deep message. I would honestly rewatch it because its so nice. Possibly(?) The same creator as kimi no na wa? I Didnt search so don't quote me. i was really looking foward when this got introduced and wasn't disappointed.

watching it tonight, was meant to watch it last night but i fell asleep. Read the summary on MAL a while ago and was waiting for it to be released on a website so i could watch it but have been really busy since it came out.

 

Watched it a couple of days ago. Is it better than Kimi no Na Wa? Definitely not, in my opinion. Having not read the manga I can't speak for the true story but in terms of the movie, a lot seemed to have issues. The main issue I had was that it seemed like they were trying to squeeze the whole manga into 2 hours. For example, a few characters I didn't even understand why they were in the movie. Take Satoshi Mashiba for example, he is just there all of a sudden because he wants to be Ishida's friend. The music in Kimi no Na wa was better as well as the animation. That being said, the story was incredible despite the issues. Art was fantastic as well just not 'Kimi' level! I absolutely love Ishida and Nishimiya <3 I couldn't believe it when she was about to kill herself and then Ishida ended up falling. I gave the movie a 9/10 on my MAL as well. Definitely worth a watch!

 

I did quote it's "as good" but definitely not better just because in terms of preference I prefer the high school comedy love setting. You're right when characters were rushed though. Like besides the main characters, nobody else was really explained. Then again in kimi no na wa the "friends" weren't explained as well as well as the co worker who taki liked . It was just a common crush and after she helped him search, she kind of disappeared overall. I guess that's the role of all side characters, not playing a significance .

 

And I fell asleep last night without watching it rip. Will watch tonight 100%

 

Yea I guess I misread your post XD. I'd argue that the side characters didn't need explanations. They served a purpose. Satoshi Mashiba didn't do anything but argue in Koe no Katachi. Wasn't that character in Kimi at the end of the movie as well?

finally watched it last night and it was great i would say 9/10 IMO.

Definitely went on my top 10 animes , and yeah I still think "Your Name" is better, just a tad bit .

10/10 Recommend anyone who hasn't watch it , to watch it! Now
