Ethereum: A new years report

Ethereum has had a tumultuous 2016 with the DAO hack, hardfork, disagreements between developers, and a plethora of other problems (not dissimilar to past events in the Bitcoin network over the years) Despite this, there have been a steady stream of updates to the core Ethereum code in terms of scalability and security, and the community has remained positive about its direction.

With 2017 arriving, the 4th and final addition to the code, Serenity, will be introduced, changing the network from PoW to PoS.

Current price: $8.40 USD

Recommendation: Buy and hold long term.

(I am nothing more than a self-proclaimed guru/enthusiast of cryptocurrency. You should most certainly do your own research, and don't invest more than you're willing to lose.)

I do not like Ether, but I also do not understand it. I am impressed that the price has continued to rise despite all the BS.

 

$11.76 at the moment. Up 40% since 2 days ago.

My current recommendation is to buy and hold long term. Ethereum is nowhere near done yet.

I'm a broke boi irl, told my roommate who is rich as fuck to invest in Ethereum when it was $7. He had $3k to invest. He considered it, and then it went up to $12 and he was like "it's too late", by the time it was $24 he gave up and said no. What a fucking retard. I wish I had money to invest...

 

You can check out multiple exchanges: Coinbase, Poloinex, Bittrex, etc.

Before figuring out where you can invest, you should first figure out why you should invest.

You could put any amount in and work on flipping to get bigger amounts or you could hold long term for a great return.
