This isn't life-changing or anything, but my stupid computer won't show my desktop background. When the computer is loading, for about a minute or two it shows my background with no icons or start bar or anything, but as soon as everything appears it shows the "Active Desktop Recovery" thing. When I click "Restore my Active Desktop" it just says theres a script error and if I would like to continue running scripts on this page. Whether I click yes or no, nothing happens.

I've searched on Google for answers, but there's no response that works or that I can understand. Please help!!! If you can help me fix the problem I will love you forever and ever.

Are you able to change your wallpaper through the Display menu in the control panel (or right click on the desktop and hit properties).

    1. Hold ctrl + alt + delete - that will bring up the 'Task Manager'
    2. Go to file and click 'New Task (Run)'
    3. type into there: explorer.exe
    4. That will bring back your icons, task bar, background etc :)

Ok so Phil, or anyone that can help. Do you know how I would go about running on my windows vista home basic a VM that will allow me to use windows xp. The windows virtual computer 2007 doesnt support Windows vista home basic, so I'm trying to find a VM that will. I need it so I can run the MTA bot by robotz.

It won't let me change my background whatsoever. When I go through properties and try, the options are all locked.

I can see my icons and task bar and stuff, I was just talking about when they aren't there while my computer is loading up. That's when I can see my lovely Kid Rock background, but it disappears as soon as the icons and task bar appear. It shows the "Active Desktop Recovery" message after the computer loads.
