Overrated movies

Let's get a thread going on with movies that you think are overrated. I'll start off with The breakfast club. Big overrated piece of shit.

Sicario
The Revenant

 

Any superhero movie

 

I dislike all superhero movies except the batman ones made by Nolan, also the old spider man movies with toby

 

damn mudzilla firing shots at some good ones xd

 

Star Wars & Harry Potter. I enjoyed parts of the series but generally overrated IMO.

 

another overrated movie: Frozen

 

I personally felt that Moana was overrated. It was good, but people claiming it matches up to movies like Lion King are bonkers.

 

22 jump street, garbage compared to the first

 

WHAT!?! NO Interstellar was amazing and so was the The Revenant was very well played

Interstellar was the shittiest and most overrated movie. Everyone hyped it up and I could go on past the half way mark.

 

Odd, when i posted this i never expected Interstellar to be here lol.

The African Doctor

 

Interstellar. I was so excited for it I went to the 6am showing on release day. I thought it was very, very well done until about 1/2 into the film, after which I thought it was so stupid how they dealt with the plot. I completely understand why people thought it was well done, but firstly no, it isn't a movie for "smart" people, the plot is not at all hard to grasp. The science behind it is amazing yes, but you really do not need to have a background in physics nor be in the upper quartile of IQ to understand it. If you want a "smart" sci-fi film, watch Primer. Secondly, on the topic of the science behind it, the ending I found was such a letdown. I'll avoid heavy spoilers, but really, REALLY, like what the fuck? For a film that introduces itself heavily grounded in science, for that to happen?

 

Yeah i agree, the science was all great and shit until the black hole part. That's not how time works at all.
I left the theater thinking about all the paradoxes their "deus ex machina" tesseract scenario would have caused. However, i wouldn't consider it overrated. There's more to a movie than just a good plot. I think the acting, special effects, camerawork and music were pretty fucking good IMO.
