    Is this you? It's Sad

When you were 8 years old, your mom handed
you an ice cream. You thanked her by yelling at her and
telling her its the wrong kind.

When you were 9 years old, she paid for
piano lessons. You thanked her by never even
    bothering to practice.

When you were 10 years old she drove
you all day, from soccer to football to one birthday
party after another. You thanked her by
jumping out of the car and never looking back.

When you were 11 years old, she took you
and your friends to the movies. You thanked
her by asking to sit in a different row.

When you were 12 years old, she warned
you not to watch certain TV shows. You thanked
her by waiting until she left the house.

When you were 13, she suggested a
hair cut that was becoming. You thanked her by telling
    her she had no taste.

When you were 14, she paid for a month
away at summer camp. You thanked her by
    not writing a single letter.

When you were 15, she came home from
work, looking for a hug. You thanked her by
    having your bedroom door locked.

When you were 16, she taught you how to
drive her car. You thanked her by taking it every
    chance you could.

When you were 17, she was expecting an
important call. You thanked her by being
    on the fone all night.

When you were 18, she cried at your high
school graduation. You thanked her by staying
    out partying until dawn.

When you were 19, she paid for your
college tuition, drove you to campus carried your
bags. You thanked her by saying good-bye
outside the dorm so you wouldn't be embarrassed in
    front of your friends.

When you were 25, she helped to pay for
your wedding, and she cried and told you how
deeply she loved you. You thanked her by
    moving halfway across the country.

When you were 50, she fell and
needed you to take care of her. You thanked
her by reading about the burden parents
    become to their children.

And then, she quietly died. And
everything that you didn't thank her for, fell on your heart.

NOTE: That wasn't an actual story. It is a generalization of a majority of child behavior these days.

Is this you? Have you ever done these things? If you have, I suggest you rethink the way you live and start thanking your mom. I received a bulletin from my friend about how he should thank his parents more and this. I think it should be heard. I hope this has helped you rethink what you have done. Thank your parents! They do a lot for you! When I was young, I didn't thank them very much.

I always wave goodbye when i get out of the car.

Summer camp? can anyone say gay. When we go on holidays for even a week I usually end up calling her 3 times on a payphone.

    Parents...well, lets see.

My fathers in jail until I'm 30 for trying to kill my mom and beating the fuck out of his girlfriend, and then evading probation on multiple accounts.

And my mom is a drunken, marijuana addicted whore.

I don't live with my parents -_- So no, this doesn't apply to me.

Maybe if this made more sense I would actually feel sad.

What if you never expressed any interest in the piano? That's mom being an idiot.

Numerous consecutive birthdays? That doesn't sound very likely.

This is just retarded all around. If a mother teaches her child not to watch TV shows because "you're not allowed" rather than explaining WHY they're bad, then it's HER fault when her child just waits until the house is empty.

Wow. Being told that you don't what haircuts look good. What a horrible fate.

Summer camp for a MONTH? This doesn't sound like a mom who wants to be reminded that her child is coming back.

Ever heard of knocking? Maybe it'd be a little awkward for about 10 seconds but there's the hug she wanted.

What is the point of teaching someone a skill if you don't intend for them to use that skill?

Good concept but, as darthvador91 pointed out, why would you need to thank her for waiting for something to happen?

Either those were tears of joy or mom hates you...

So now you're deciding that your mom is automatically better than your spouse?

Look, only a total douchebag would react like that. Normal people would help.

Lol, Muffinator, Nublakes said it's a generalisation, I always used to be embarrased by my mum when i was younger. But now i dont really care. I dont go to football practice but its a generalisation, I go to basketball...Doesn't have to be exact.

I completely understand my dad left after the divorce, my mom on the other remarried as well a pyscho midget who always ready to swing at me. My mom looks for reason to fight me, worse part is she tries to hit me while sober, she doesn't drink or smoke. So I guess she just hates me, I don't live at home, but I have a room, I share an apartment with a friend now...
